I mentioned this in another post but , no response , I called DOT . NTSA. And a couple of other abc types, a while ago when I had a little pull and could get thru for ?. I asked why the 15 year life on a 4500 psi tank. I asked because I have a friend who lives in UK and he said EU life cycle is 30 years. The .gov folk here said that they are the same tanks and they have only 1 report of a failure at a fire dept. It failed because of being doused with paint remover and dried, unknown till after fact. And yes they confirmed that EU had a 30 yr life. That is all they would say. Any one here have any idea.
thanks

That's correct. Euro tanks are allowed 30yrs. With DOT,OSHA,NTSA and every other alphabet-soup agency controlling things that is the case in the U.S. A buddy of mine has a Scott that is a ex-F.D. tank that's well past hydo-ing. He fills it at home and has never had a problem. Luxfer makes a 30yr. U.S.-legal tank but i have no idea of price.
