I may be able to get one (if the guy still has it, at a local flea market) for $125, seems to be in great shape, haven't asked any questions as I didn't have the money at the time. It's a .177 I'm pretty sure, which from what I gather is rated at 700 fps, I have no experience with smaller/weaker springers. Thoughts?

I have two M24's, one in each caliber. The .177 should be around 600 fps (or a little less) with standard weight lead pellets. The trigger is non adjustable. They are nice accurate shooters

If in nice shape, that's a good price. And some have adjustable triggers. Look for a screw or two in the trigger. Even the basic trigger isn't bad. Fun guns and easy cocking. Same quality as a 34, just lighter. The older ones are a bit smaller. Good luck with the haggling.

Nice simple gun. Keep it open sights for a fun, light plinker. Great for kids or indoctrinating females into shooting . Done that, tk

The older ones may have an adjustable trigger, not a deal killer, but much more desirable. The 24 used to be a 'poor mans' R-7, similar in velocity and even accuracy, but without the adjustable trigger, not quite as functional. Can be tuned, parts available from Jim Maccari. I used to buy these for my nephews, as they are a great intro airgun for young people. But also a nice garden protector for anybody else.
