Inexpensive .177 alternative to cleaning patches

I just stumbled upon a money saver in cleaning my .177's
Qtips. They fit in the end of my cleaning rod
Without a tip in my rod I cut the Qtip in 3rds and they fit real nice in the end of my Dewey rod.
I am a sucker for DIY with household money saving products.
Hope this helps someone.
I know alot of you use weed wacker line I just can't get it through my tko ldc

I do that too! Unfortunately they're not wide enough for the .22s.

I do that too and for my .22s I rough up the cotton or add a little more...

I use a plastic straw in the air stripper in the end of the shroud to help the weedeater line to pass through.

Twisted paper towels in a crown saver work great too.

qtips sounds like a good idea. thanks for sharing
i use the crown saver too. pretty good option for for $7.50. i bought 2 for $15 and give 1 to my brother. the beauty of that simple design is it will pull a tighter patch than the weed eater line. squeaky clean and tight.

I cut qtips in 2, put them in an electric drip and use the them, in conjunction with JB bore paste, to do the final polish on my recrowns. Also use them to keep my cleaning rod from going past the crown when cleaning from the breech by inserting them in the muzzle and bumping them with the cleaning rod. J
