Went on the internet today a saw pictures and specs for the new Galatian. It can be had in 177,22, and 25 cal. Looks pretty . Pa will be carrying it . Not due till may sometime . Price somewhere about $880. Comes with a walnut stock.
-
It looks to be a beast, not even a bad price for what you are getting, if the quality is 50% the pictures lead me to believe.
I just kind of wish that they would have went the .357 route, maybe a redesign of the AT44, I dunno, something to expand their line performance wise rather than another model with roughly the same specs as many others (speaking very broadly).
-
I looked at it too and felt the same.... Eh. :-\
I don't understand what else it brings to the table other than a larger magazine for $850? Now if it had a shroud or a
LW barrel than that would be worth drawing my attention away from the BT65.
-
im looking forward to seeing the sound moderated barrel versions, if they ever actually come out.
it would be cool if there were a production quiet airgun that would also be more powerful than an Mrod in the same calibers, but that would most likely need a shroud, and a very effective one at that.
yeah i dont think the wood stock, no sound moderator version really has enough to be worth $880, but maybe thats just me.

Here is the info from Hatsan Web site. Looks like a Carbine Shrouded version is going to be available.

except it looks more like a moderator than shroud and not everything on their site seems to be available (at least in the US and through the more popular airgun selling sites)

I think it's one of the better looking rifles out there. .357 version would be awesome. If I had $900 burning a hole in my pocket....... that's a pretty big IF, though.

I personally don't like the appearance of the Galatian lineup, but that's just me. I'm just waiting patiently to see if they'll come out with a semi/full auto using spent air like the FX guns. That would be a dream come true. Imagine a semi/full auto .25 cal BT65, that would be so 8)

To each his own, I respect that. One of my favorite parts of thumbing through the PA catalog is looking at how many different styles of air guns there are. There are Camaro guys and there are Mustang guys and there are Charger guys. There are Harley guys and there are........................................well I won't go there.

Interesting line of feelings on this new commer. I will look forward to the first read on one.
-
I just hope that this is not a transition by Hatsan to start sliding the pricing of their products upwards. The fit and finish will have to be a lot better than on my BT65 for $200.00 worth of pretty. You'd think that on the much touted Quattro Trigger, they would at least QC out the ones with machine marks in visible locations. Mine looks like a shark attack victim...
I did like the ideas Mod90 and TyrantBlade had both are new enough to really add to Hatsan's line-up, not just be a placeholder.

Hi Guys,
Today I bought the Galatian III Black synthetic with a thumb hole .22 Caliber. Actually I exchanged my BT65-SB Elite with it and paid the difference.
Coming from the BT-65 SB Elite synthetic version, I can tell you that when I saw it on the website, i didn't like the look much. but when you hold it, it feels much easier to handle even though they are the same weight.
To start with, the finishing is more respectable than the BT65. the Synthetic stock looks and feels different than the BT65. it is very well balanced in hand. The cocking is so smooth comparing to the BT65. The 14 pellets magazine fits robustly in its place, no wobbling, very firm, and it is locked by a small index ball behind it to keep it tight and in the right position.
The rear sight can be easily removed or even change the position backward or forward. The air cylinder is the same at the BT65, with the only difference that they fixed the valve head getting loose by adding a nut on top of it.
Today I will run it through the chrono out of the box to see what results I will get, and compare it to the BT65. which it was around 360 m/s out of the box, and the lowest I could reach was around 340 m/s.
I will post some pictures later on, and will put the results of the chrono.
Regards

Awaiting with great interrest. Also how many shots you are getting from a fill at which power.... 3600 Joule from a 255cc bottle sounds VERY high... :o (60 shots @60 joule for .25)

Hi again.
As I Promised earlier today, I did some chrony test out of the box with the Premier Hollow point 14.3 grains. I also tested with a regulated cylinder, and here are the results. :
Without regulator.
BAR M/S BAR M/S BAR M/S BAR M/S

As you can see, the gun produces a muzzle velocity as advertized, and it seems it has a nice curve with approximately 30 shots from a full cylinder to around 120 BAR without a regulator.
As for the regulated cylinder, it still needs some tuning and adjustment. As soon as I will know how to adjust the hammer spring I will decrease the power little bit to get more consistent shots with and without a regulator.
A note about my previous BT65. Without the regulator and with the hammer spring released to the maximum, I couldn't go lower than 340 meters/second. but what was nice about it, is that I used to fill it to 150 BAR and get 30 amazing shots at a distance varying between 55 meters to 70 meters.
I can't wait for the week end to see how the Galatian will perform in term of accuracy.

Hey guys,
I actually posted this on an old dead thread.
I hope it is not too long winded. Oh, and today my new "Labor Day" special arrived and for $382.49 AGD sent me a AT44Wood-10 .25 Long. Pretty rifle with nice lines, great shooter.
◇◆◇◆◇◆☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆●□●□●□●□□○●○●○●○●●
Hey guys,
I have read many comments concerning why Hatsan would seeming change the appearance of a new series of rifles and then raise the price so high.
I started with the AT44W-10 .22 $399.99 US, then the 125 TH Mod NP .25 $229.99 US.
Then since no one had a BT65 Elite, which I really wanted when I bought the AT44, I spoke with a salesman from PA and AGD. They both said buy the Galation. They both agreed that it was just more refined and more fun to shot.
Now that I own a BT65 Elite ( glad I waited, snagged a refurb $486 US, with everthing new but the spotless stock and like new plastic case), I know exactly what they meant. First if you buy the synthetic Galation lV there is only $20 difference in price. $699.99 US for the Galation lV. The Galation wood models and satin metal are beautiful and expensive long guns but for someone like me who is clumsy, synthetic is the way to go.
My Galation after about 850 rounds became extremely accurate. Where as my AT44 was accurate on the first clip.
The BT65 also was very accurate immediately. With that said, cocking that thing (BT)was almost to the point of standing it on the butt plate and jumping on the bolt with both feet. Now at 450 shoots and a can of silicone it is getting better.
Comparioning the BT65: pros...just as the Galation has, the adjustable butt plate, the slide back butt plate and the adjustable comb are great features.
Being able to store two fresh clips in the bottom of the fore stock is a plus. The Galation stores one clip under the butt stock. They both have the 3 Weaver mounts on the fore stock for bipod, lights and lasers if that is your thing. Both accommodate air strippers and open Truglo sights with front and rear adjustments for the old school shooters.
Both guns are .25 so the 2 clips on the BT holds 9 pellets each and the single clip under the Galation has 13 rounds.
BT65: cons ...EXTREMELY STIFF ACTION, and a nasty "twang" in the fore stock after the cannon goes off, but not until the fill is down to about 125 bar. The 2 clips when stored under the fore stock are a bit loose and they rattle and only go in one way. The gun sounds hollow when thumped on, like most synthetic gun stocks. The safety is in the worst possible location, located on the off bolt side and at the top rear of the breech. For me, there just is no smooth way to release it. Not to mention it is auto. My hand is too large for the BT Elite pistol grip. Also the rough checkering cuts into my skin partly because there is not enough room for my hand to grip. I cured that issue with a nice thin pair of soft leather palmed driving /shooting gloves.
The Galation storage clip is a bit tighter and you don't have to deal with which way it goes in place.
Of course the sling and the case for both the BT and the Galation are not useful. The sling clips are ok, but you need to add a stronger sling. The BT front sling rattles badly and I ended up covering it with foam and tape from a PA ammo shipping protector. The Galation front sling fastener is better located under the fore stock as opposed to on the side of the fore stock, causing the rattle.
GALATION Pros: ..the synthetic is highly superior to the BT. It has a really nice rubber coating over a much thicker synthetic substance.
The action is Hatsan's best if you ask me. A slight lift of the pinky cocks the gun and a slide of the thumb returns it to firing position. Since the 80cc

I see about 25 shots within a 5% ES from 200 bar down to 130ish, and 19 shots within a 4% ES from 190 bar down to 140ish.... With a regulator, you are getting 33 shots before it drops 4%, and 30 within 2% ES.... I would also suggest stepping up to at least an 18 gr. pellet to drop the velocity into the 900s....

I just read your tunes on your AT44-10, 70 fpe? Wish you were closer so I could hire your skills.
My Galation lll synthetic .25 just arrived. I was surprised at the extras I was not expecting. I ordered the Galation kit with extra 255cc cylinder, 2 mags and an air stripper. It came with 3 mags plus the 4, I ordered extra, I was not expecting a case and a sling so big smile when I found them in the box. $752 for all delivered to Florida. Considering that a cylinder is $169, a mag is $13, and an air stripper is $28
That was $210 bucks in bonus, yeah for me.
I will say compared to the synthetic stock of my 125 Mod it is quite different. It feels more like rubber. I think it needs Armorall to treat it.
Another thing you cant tell from the photos is the nice balance and natural feel and balance. I can't clean the barrel untill tomorrow as all 3 of my low end cleaning rods are broken. I have a nicer one piece coming from Amazon.
Silly question, because I have never removed an air cylinder before, and this had a new filled cylinder in a seperate box, is the brass mechanism on the breech end of the cylinder some kind of a regular? It has a brass cap screwed on it for protection, just like the degasser only no hole in the end.
Thanks for any answers.

Brass piece is the valve, brass part screwed on is probably there to protect threads from getting damaged on the valve.

Many thanks Steve,
Ok nofw I know what a valve assy. Looks like. I did run across a video on installing a regulator so I am learning a little at a time. Thanks to all the helpful people out there.
Again thanks for taking the time to clue in a newbie like me.
Hope to get the new Galation scrubbed out and a log book started and entering some Crony specs and using a cheapie scope out of my drawer and wait for the new Leapers bubble level scope that Ted reported from the German shot show.

GEE STEVE, lol
You write a great review on this gun, I buy it, love it, then, it has issues, I send it in for warranty, it comes back, loses power, then I am still waiting for them to help me to get it back to right. Lol
Be Well,
Gator
PS could you fix it for me, lol
They must have read the post. The next day they sent me a FedEx sticker and re opened the RMA. They have been good on taking care of issues. Same day my AT44 .25 Long arrived.
