I live in South Africa where we have a fairly high crime rate. We were burgled last year March so naturally everyone at home is quite vigilant. This morning as we were leaving home, my Mrs stopped her car at the gate and called me to come outside (I leave after she does). I go out to find her pointing out the fallen Hibiscus tree limb next to the boundary wall. She insisted that I review the CCTV footage to see if someone tried to climb over the wall which has razor wire on it and then used the tree to come down. I promised to do so after work and left. I got home early and decided to inspect the 4 inch thick limb. What I found amazed me. I had been testing some 50 gr spitzers with my .22 on Tuesday night at a target that was placed in front of the tree. The wall behind the tree has 2 inch granite sheets stacked against it as a backstop. I was shooting from 30 meters away. The spitzers had passed through the target board which was half inch pine and had went through the tree limb which is solid not hollow.it had hit at the same spot a few times. The weight of the limb did the rest and brought it down. Now let me see if the Mrs sees the funny side of this.

I'm glad some of the posts here convinced me to get my sumatra. I can plink in the yard with Crosman premiers for < $0.02 a shot (at the lowest setting on the wheel) and then it can be dialed up with these 50 grainers to devastating results!
How well do the 50gr spitzers fit in the magazine? How are they for accuracy and fit in the barrel? I keep reading how you can't run a regular rifle bullet because of the way airguns are rifled and then other people seem to be doing it OK? Were you maxed out on the power?
Just be careful next time you shoot man! Protect thy neighbor with the extra backstop!

Nomadic Pirate: I think you convinced me to buy one with all of your posts (and Mr. Black Diesel) so thanks! I have the slightly smaller Eun Jin dome pellets but I have to wait until I get to the range or do something about the noise level at higher power. I've shot a few on low but they deserve more air!
