M-417 Chrony Results

I set up my chrony and spent a couple hours today in the backyard range with the Crosman M-417 doing my pellet grouping tests. I tested a total of 23 different pellets. All shooting was done at 28 yards with the maximum 10 pumps for each shot and I was using a GAMO 4x scope that I mounted on the rifle.
Out of all the pellets I tested the ones that gave me the best groupings were CPL's, JSB Express Domes and RWS Super Hollow Points. Those 3 pellets gave me groups slightly larger than a quarter. It was rather windy today while I did my testing and while I could live with quarter sized groups if I have to, I'm hoping that re-testing these 3 pellets on a calm day will result in the groups shrinking a bit. All of the other pellets performed poorly .
Here are the chrony averages for each pellet......
CPL......................528
JSB Xpress............525
CPHP....................529
Tomahawks...........539
FTS.........................502
Predator...................542
Destroyer.................516
Crosman Match.........508
Gamo Pro Mag...........516
Gamo Match.............549
RWS R-10................576
RWS SHP.................561
Kodiaks...................480
JSB Exact 8.3g.........505
Crow Mag................501
CPL Ultra Mag...........462
Gamo Rocket............490
Gamo Master Point....520
RWS Hobby..............557
Crosman Pointed.......512
Superdome..............530
Gamo Magnum..........530
Gamo Hunter............524
I do have several more pellets to test but unfortunately both of my shoulders have rotator cuff joint problems so I had to stop and give my poor old shoulders a rest. I found the rifle very easy to pump but with my bad shoulders all that repetitive motion just took it's toll on me.
The rifle functioned well during all of my shooting and I really had a good time testing it. I was hoping for better accuracy but like I said, it was very windy so I won't pass final judgement until I shoot again on a calm day. Worst case scenario is that I'll be stuck with the quarter sized groups from the CPL's, the JSB Xpress Domes and the RWS SHP's and that will work for me for the intended use of the rifle which is going to be as a backyard starling killer.
All in all I find this to be a really cool rifle and I like it. I'm looking forward to my shoulders feeling better so I can shoot it some more
Ok, that's it, I'll end here. I hope members who have this rifle find the info of some value....
