Does cold weather have any effects on the power on a pump rifle like the M417?

I take it that is like a Sheridan, etc? I guess cold weather will vary the fps to some degree since cold affects air density. If you were to pump it up indoors and then go outside and let it get cold, the power should drop. Pumping at ambient, outdoor temperature should stay pretty stable but the pressure might be different, making you have to rezero.

Yes, but not that much.
It seems to effect It more the longer The gun is held pumped.

If you pump it at the same temperature you are going to shoot at, the effect is virtually nil.... If you pump it where it's warm (ie in a house) and take it outside and let it cool to ambient then the more difference in temperature the lower the velocity.... The pressure will drop in proportion to the change in absolute temperature.... A 50*F change will drop the pressure about 10%.... and the velocity will likely change less than that (maybe 5%?)....
You will actually notice a slight difference in velocity between pumping and shooting continuously (indoors or out).... compared to pumping the gun, leaving it sit for a while, and then shooting it.... If you are shooting continuously, the valve (and the air inside) doesn't have much chance to cool off.... If you wait and the gun cools down, the pressure (and hence the velocity) will be slightly less....

If I pump my 392's outdoors when it's chilly and keep inside over night, they shoot a little bit higher than normal.
