How far are you shooting? I shoot starlings at 75 feet with CPHP's and there's no problem with kills.

I'd skip cphps in .22 Cal. They are not consistent In size. In. 177 though, they are great.
Newbie here. I'm in the same boat - I'll be shooting mostly starlings and crows, so it looks like the crow magnum is my best choice in .22.However, what's a cheap .22 pellet I can use for breaking in a new rifle? I have a Crosman Nitro Venom Dusk .22 arriving tomorrow in the mail.I don't want to waste pricey pellets for the first 100 or so shots.-Steve
