A friend of mine, big time powderburner, finally decided he wants to hunt with airguns.he was on a budget so he ordered a Hatsan BT65 .25, when he came to my house to shoot it in, I was very disappointed in the gun so I suggested he would exchange it with a Sumatra .25 Carbine, he had the Sumatra couple of weeks now, ...can't wipe the grin off his face
just bought a 2500 carbine this morning, hope lots of good stories start flowing, while I wait for delivery
Here's a story for you. I just received my .25 Sumatra 2500 yesterday. I cleaned the barrel and fitted the scope and LDC and took it outside with the chrony and 43 grain Eunjins. First six shots with a 3k psi fill on high power were 1-10142-10063-9974-9885-9816-970Now according to Chair gun that's 98 FT/LBS?! I figured that couldn't be right so I shot another string and it was no diiferent. My understanding was this gun was an 80ft/lb gun at best lol.... But don't get too excited because at 50 yards my best 5 shot group was 2" at that power setting. You have to turn the Eunjins down to around 850fps to get a decent group. I'm going to give some H&N pellets a try this evening to see if I can get a sub 1/2" 50 yard group at around 60ft/lbs.
Roy Kasten ([email protected]) has built my last 3 LDCs and I'll continue to buy from him as long as he makes them. The Sumatra is back yard friendly with his LDC as long as you keep the pellet sub-sonic. The one he built for my .357 Evanix makes it crazy quiet.
