New Gun Cabinet For my FWB 300 Collection
«
on:

Finished the gun cabinet for my FWB 300 springers. Disappointed in the decision to use shellac but the cabinet serves its purpose.
I looked at dozens of hardware to hang the guns on and none of them was what I was looking for so I decided to make my own. I wanted a hand forged look but something that held the gun away from the wall.
The hooks I looked at were right up against the wall and had the natural curved bottom. Being the FWB 300 has more of a square bottom, that's what I was looking for. I also use the sticky back felt to line the hooks.
Sorry, the pictures aren't the best quality.

Hey Frank,
Nice Work

What other finish were you contemplating besides shellac?

Why were you disappointed in the shellac? I think it looks real nice.
