Bob,I've never used a red dot. Does it have holdover points? -Y
BobGood idea. I thought about that on the "30" but that would have never crossed my mind with the 90. But now that you've said it, it really makes even more sense on the 90 with all its power and extended point blank range. Still running 22 bar? Found any other pellets? Pumped mine back up to 22 bar again to test an LDC on something powerful and loud. Works well but at 23 fpe the gun is way too much for my back yard at that power level. And it too big, heavy (IMO) to hunt with. Will probably just dial it back to 16-18 fpe and leave it cocked by the window for any quick "opportunities" that present themselves!
I squeeze a little more precision out of 3 MOA dots by using the top of the dot as the targeting indicator. I also have a NC Star dot with circle sight that gives me nice holdover points 5- 35 yards, my 1322 preferred ranges.

Plus one on that technique. I've been able to use 4 MOA dots that way with good accuracy on some PBs out to 100 yards. No rule says you have to cover the target with the whole dot. Also, red dots make great sights for shooting spinner and metal targets. Great sights for air gun plinking.
I love the little red dots like the Burris Fastfire series.
