Out of the box, the prod should do what you want. Only reason I say should, accuracy is typical crosman spotty. You can get a poor barrel, good barrel or maybe a great barrel. Plan on 24 shots at about 13FPE out of the box, plenty for nutters and rats.My barrel out of the box was meh...1" at 25yds was the best it would do. I ordered 2 more from crosman, one of them will consistently do under 1/2" at 25yds with just about any descent pellet. I typically use H&N 14.66, several JSB and even crosman domes shot nearly or just as good. With a transfer port mod, bstsley o ring mod and a discovery hammer spring, I get 4 good mags at 15FPE. Can go a little over 20FPE for 3 good mags if I want.Keep it simple. Crosman stock, light weight 2-7 or 3-12 scope or maybe a red dot, you'll have a nice light, handy little carbine. If noise is a concern. The shroud is not bad but not really backyard friendly... hit up rocker1 here on GTA for some quite assistance
Here is what mine came stock followed by my first tune attempt. I added the double tube kit to it, so future shot strings are different

I'm going to order the P-ROD next week. I have several disco hammer springs laying around so might try that too! Cheers Phil
John yesterday I was reading in a thread that the AGNATION wasn't working anymore however I just went and tried it and yes it does work, it ends up the exact price you posted.
Many thanks to you all. Especially John and Wayne. I got the P-ROD on the way! It was only 307 and change with the AGNATION coupon! Really happy I asked y'all. Thanks! Phil

Thinking of adding a P-Rod to my airgun collection. I'm about 4 months into my Darkside obsession. So far my only experience with pcp airguns is a Disco in 22 caliber. I have made some missteps but all y'all good folks here have helped me straighten those out. I do enjoy moding my disco. So far I have done the trigger mod, 3000psi mod, TKO LDC, second barrel band and power adjuster mod. On order right now is a BNM multi shot breech and shroud and a Boyd's stock. The disco will be done next week. So now I'm looking to make a carbine for short range pesting. What do y'all think about the P-Rod for that purpose? What kind of real shot counts are y'all getting at enough fpe for nutters and rats at about 25 yards? I currently get about 24 good shots out of my disco. Is that a possibility with the P-Rod without mods?
