any body know who can insert delrin buttons for me? I have my HW35 going thru a complete super tune by me but something I can't do anymore due to no tooling, if you know some one who can do it right let me know!
buttons.... maybe an easier way...Ive had good luck drill 3 or 4 1/4 inch holes at the rear of the piston (similar areas you'd but the button) then tapping it for 1/4-20 screws. Hit the hardware store for some 1/4-20 nylon "bolts" dab of super glue in the hole threads, run the nylon bolt thru the hole and let the glue set. the sand the nylon flush to the ID of the piston. Snip the bolt off somewhat proud of the piston OD. repeat for all the holes. Oh one tip, put a metal 1/4-20 nut on the nylon bolt before you do the above. after you clip it the bolt off the piston, itlll help dress the nylon threads for the next hole. After all the holes are treated this way, slide the piston in and start removing (anding or filing, remember to put some curve on it to match the ID of the compression tube) nylon a little at a time till the piston will go in but with some friction. That'll wear down a bit as you use the gun.Reassemble and shoot. you should notice it being some what quieter and much smoother.
Nylon vs delrin?<big snip>> AA and Walther use the ringing method and otheres.
maybe some button head nylon bolts maybe easier to work with?
OKAY, all me crazy if You like but this is easy and it works. You can do it yourself in about an hour for virtually nothing. First using a Dremel, grind several (3 - 6) approximately evenly spaced depressions around the piston skirt. The depressions should be approximately 1/4" diameter and 1/16" deep. Next slightly over fill the depressions with quick setting epoxy to form inbeded buttons. Finally file/sand the epoxy buttons to get a perfect sliding fit in the compression chamber. When fiiished 99% of the buttons will be permanently inbeded in the piston skirt with very little above the surface. When the piston is installed, they are not meerly glued in place, they are also trapped between the piston and the chamber wall. I have done this to my D460 and after thousands of shots the buttons are still intact. Simple, cheap and the action is smooth as butter.AR
