It was made in China so I'm posting here
The first few time out my Buckmark shot like a champ it was going to be my favorite pistol. Then I cleaned the barrell sanded smooth some casting marks on the breech and dry fired it to release the spring. Now it's a dog. I'm not hunting bears with it I'm punching paper at 10 meters.
Did I damage the piston? I can see imperfections in the breech seal O ring. Where do I get parts for the Buckmark?
I read the tuning article on the Yellow forum but he just worked on the trigger. I think the gun would benefit from a good old fashioned tune to increase performance and reduce the twang. The pistol is rated at 260 Fps so even a very minor improvement would help.

Since it's a springer, dry firing is a no no. Sounds like something was damaged since right after the dry firing your performance suffered. I'd say it's cheaper to just buy a new one. I got one recently and it seems to shoot well. While the trigger isn't the greatest, it's still fun to shoot. Not bad for an under $50 pistol.

I looked around and according to this 2012 pyramid air blog post there are no parts or diagrams the pistol was made to be shot as is. There is no maintenance to do on the gun.

I'm still going to look for a breech seal

Generally, if you dry fire a spring piston airgun the two greatest parts at risk are the piston seal and the spring - probably in that order. You would have to tear the gun down to see which it is.
Many (not all) spring piston airguns can be uncocked without dry firing them. With the others you can certainly load a pellet and shoot it to uncock it.
