Optima combo scopes have a reputation of going bad... Real Fast. I did a DYI shock mount on mine and they are still going strong. The 25 cal Edge Vortex Scope is a year old this coming May. The 25cal Spring Piston - 85 Sniper is 3 1/2 years old.

Of the 6 I've gotten with my Hatsan rifles, I've only ever tried one and that was on a lesser powered rifle and even then it failed in under 500 shots. Unless you do like Tom and tweak the inner workings and come up with some kind of recoil dampening mount, they fail. It's been well documented, reviewed and why most buyers either already have a better scope or order one when they order the rifle to put on them, in my case, a Hawke Sport HD 3-9x40 AO that's still going strong with over 1500 shots.
Can you recommend any other scopes that can handle the shock? Hawke Sport HD 3-9x40 AO>>>See scp52's Reply<<<***************************************************************************************************The Following was taken from another GTA Member's Post about how Good Hawk Scopes are. I had a Nite Eye 4-16 (not the digital) that had a very hard to turn A/O and sent it in for them to look at thinking if they could loosen the focus up it would be great. Along with the stiff focus they found the parallax to be off a bit so they are sending me a new scope. Now here is the kicker..I could not find the receipt and that was no problem! The scope they are sending me is the Vantage side focus 6-24x44 at no cost to me!!! Customer service like that is virtually unheard of these days! Tip o' the hat to Hawke and Mr. Jes Reeve who was a real pleasure to deal with.Take er easy...Dan
^^ +1 to what Nick said plus here's 1 scope that's been getting pretty solid reviews, not a lot of money and Hammers has a pretty good warranty:I have Hawke Vantage 3-9x40 AO IR scopes on more than a few of my springers and gas rams and so far they've all held up very well to both springers and gas rams but unless you can find them on sale someplace like Dvor, https://www.dvor.com/. The site is free to join and you'll get daily deals emails and when they have a special going, you can save a bundle. I'm also a fan of the Hawke Airmax scopes which were designed expressly for spring and gas ram air rifles.
