I just got a new 2100 and the stock looks like &^^&! It is smooth plastic no wood grain or checkering at all.buyer beware! Now I am torn sending it back.i put a few rounds in it and it shooting tight grouped at 50 feet and the trigger is workable.i don't have a chrony but it kind of wimpy compared to my 880 but it is not broke in yet .It just looks like a kiddy toy now.Guys what do I do.

I guess it depends on what you want it for. if it shoots good and you just got it to plink around and shoot targets for fun, then it sounds like it will do that.
however, if you are feeling like you did not get your money's worth, then I can see sending it back.
The 2100 costs more than the Daisy 880, and I'm pretty sure that its 'supposed' to be a step up in quality and performance.

Even the older plastic ones didn't look too good to me. After all, it's still plastic. If you like the rifle, a member here makes nice wood stocks for these. His name is Erik Gillman. Maybe he has some available or is willing to make another.
Here's a link with a few pictures.

when I was 6-13 they where still making the hard wood stocks either that or all my guns must have been hand-me-downs, I simply can't pick up these "Realistic" plastic guns. the only plastic gun I have is the 2300 and the only reason I put up with it's stock it because I simply love the gun itself. but if you must have a pumper I would save up and buy a hard wood, thanks to manufacturing these days the only option is a 397,392. I remember when the 760 was hard wood

Well I shot afew more rounds through it .for a budget rifle it is out of the box accurate I hitting dime size groups at 50 feet.even with a lousy trigger.i pulled the barrrel and did a tape mod but the front sight is pretty tight on this one, one wrap of teflon tape is all it would take.put on two foam mid spacer.i added washers under the rear site screws. really did not make a difference on groups I think it me with the trigger
Well I am going to keep this ugly duckling. If I get tried of looking at it I just camo it.
You know what I tried a legacy before this and it was a scatter gun. Looking at the crown on this one now I am convinced that the barrel was installed backwards on the legacy. I wll try and look for one to inspect or if someone here takes a pic of theres for me. I might take another chance on one it had some power to it.

I was going to suggest a can of spray paint. Krylon Fusion for plastic comes in satin camo-ish colors and a top coat of flat clear...
