if i was to re-tap from 6-32 to 8-32 , ot from 8-32 to 10-32 should i drill out the old threads first, or just use the next size tap? the current threads aren't damaged. this is in brass.

for 6-32 in brass, go right to the 8-32 with some lube.. comes out perfect.. 8-32 to 10-32 I rarely do so idk

the 8-32 to 10-32 is a bit harder if i recall correctly., so that may depend on your skillset.
