What's the chances of modding a Cothran disco valve to fit the Kral valve assembly? It would be a complete chop, cut and thread but does anyone see what I am seeing? All I have seen are pictures so if this sounds a little nutty I really don't mind you calling me out on it ( I hate wasting money on something that just wouldn't work".
Hey Troy,I have read about the work you have done on the Kral stuff. Gald you posted. An interesting thing came up in an Mrod discussion about throat sizing and poppet cracking force.I have read that the Kral puncher breaker 25 cal has a .3" throat. If one was to reduce that throat to .25" ( or increase the poppet stem size in the throat) it would reduce the cracking force a lot which would in turn reduce the stress on the cocking assembly and still have matching porting at a .215" exit porting. I can tell you that with a 20 inch barrel at those values are good for over 80 fpe. and I believe a Kral 25 cal barrel is closer to 22".What do I know though. I am still messing around with a marauder.
Not to get silly with comparisons with you Troy, my .22 gen 2 set up with this configuration "on reg at 1550" and 190c's gets 25 fpe for 93 shots and 15/25 off reg.I just thought it might be interesting to you to experiment further.
