If you adjust the parallax in the straight tube to the middle of your normal shooting range it will probably work.

I'm guessing your goal is a non AO scope, but because I own a couple and they work very well, I thought I'd toss this out there....The scope is a Hawke Sport HD 2-7x32 AO (they also have one in the Vantage line), I have several and the AO on all of them is set to 25 yards. I shoot anywhere from 15 out to 40 and so far, have found I can see just fine leaving them set that way. I also figured I'd mention them because they fit inside your 12 inch length requirement being only 11.5 inches long and weigh in a touch over 14 ounces, so they're not heavy..Here's a link to the specs for them on Pyramyd Air if you're at all interested, but if you do a little surfing or watch for sales at Dvor, which is free to join, you can get them cheaper. During the last sale they were only like $55 + shipping:

Remove it and you will see that the objective lens is in a threaded carrier. You can mount the scope in a vice of some sort aimed at a target at your preferred range and adjust that in or out until parallax free at that distance. Reinstall the lockring and it is done. Check for vidoes on youtube, but be warned that the lockring is a bear to remove the first time, I wrap them in several layers of painters tape and grap with a strap wrench to remove. I have had a couple AO scopes that would not adjust to 10 yards from the factory that I modified this way and a couple none adjustable that I backed up to 20 and 40 yards for airgun use.

PS. tried to reply to you, but somehow i got a message saying, "you can not post external links"
