Jeffrey,The little part you are talking about modifying is part of the anti-beartrap device that is supposed to keep the gun from firing when you cock it and causing the barrel to snap closed like a bear trap. What exactly did you cut on to get the parts to fit?The trigger usually comes adjusted pretty tame, I usually adjust them right up to the hairy edge, the second stage is barely a bump and the lead flies.....We get together at my place in Cross SC once a month to shoot, you are welcome to come join us.
P.S. Let me get a little more proficient with an air rifle, then I'd love to join you for a day of shooting, that way I don't embarrass myself too badly, lol. 😆
You need not be proficient to come and have fun, plus there are no better teachers in the state than what will be there for you to learn from. Come on and meet the rest of us airheads, you'll have a blast...
This Youtube video might help. or this one
Neither one of those show how to adjust the trigger.Always keep the gun pointing in the safe direction while adjusting....Cock and load the gun, point the gun in a safe direction and slowly adjust the flat head screw in until the rifle discharges then back off a full turn cock and shoot the gun to test the trigger feel if you like it leave it if not repeat the first trigger adjustment then only back out 3/4 turn. and repeat.
The title of your thread GBCBW + grt makes me think that the problem with your gun is and overload of features. I have never shot nor even seen one so enough of the facetious remarksAt the price that people in the USA can buy a Gamo Accu, that has to be the way to go. Maybe not too good out of the box although some Americans have reported good performance as they come. They are a rifle that responds to amateur airgun mechanic attention and can be excellent. In my never humble opinion, the best Gamo. All the others are basic airguns with gimmicks.I have an old CFX with wire spring -- excellent.I also have a Gamo Challenger IGT ( which is nothing more than a CFX with a fancy stock and gas ram) Still working on it but it leaves me wanting.Don't despair it is all part of airgun education.
Finally got a chance to sight in my scope as well as mess around with adjusting the trigger a bit. Just wanted to give y'all an update. I didn't have much time to mess with it, but after many disappointing hours of tweaking and practicing in my rifle's stock configuration, a mere hour with the new trigger and scope has shown it to be a whole 'nother animal!I was putting pellets nearly through the same hole at 25 yards. Something I certainly couldn't do before.I've still got some fine tuning to do, but, my hat's off to you guys!
