I also put friction tape in my rings:Just in case. Taso
To put things in more general terms, 15 in-lbs for M3 screws threaded into aluminum, and 30 in-lbs for M4.
Definitely on a springer. I still do on pcp's because I don't want my scope tubes all scratched up.Taso
"M" = "Metric."

I picked up a torque wrench gun screwdriver. I was looking at its documentation and it had these recommendationsCommon scope base mounts - 18-20 in poundsScope rings - 28-30 in poundsscope base windage screws - 40 - 45 in pounds.I Started off at 25 and it seemed a bit tight, was not breaking free. I ended up setting them to 16 or so which felt better. The good is I know all the rings are the same in pounds. Its a pretty good one, even had a calibration card and name +- 1 percent of something like that. 28-30 seems a bit aggressive on scope rings or am I off base here?
