Ok wife is off to work so I went back down to the man cave. 60 rounds down range and the rifle is steading down nicely The top red sticker was 10 shots at 10 yards 9 in a ragged single hole and 1 flyer. As I said if this rifle continues to improve and a little TLC should make this a great little plinker/pester
Ok for any interested parties disassembly requires a spring compressor. After the teardown I determined that I need a CDT GRT 4G trigger so I placed the order today 4/9 and will mail payment tomorrow. Cleaned, deburred and honed the cylinder then cleaned again to flush out the grit left behind from honing the cylinder.Very light coat of Ultimox 226 on the inside of the cylinder and light coat on piston seal Carefully reinstalled the piston in the cylinder and inserted the cocking lever. now for the wait until have the new trigger no point with final assembly until the new trigger arrives from CDT.I will post final impressions trigger pull weight and FPS/FPE results once I have reassembled this rifle. I feel that the TLC is worth the effort where else are you going to get a decent multi shot plinker / backyard pester for under $200 dollars. Withe the Pyramyd discount, free shipping and the cost of the CDT trigger I will have a total of ~ $200 all in.I am not claiming this is the be all end all of break barrel rifles and not in the same league as a Diana 34 or my RX2 but in some respects it is in a league of it's own. So far I have about 600 various pellets through this rifle with no misfeeds or jams and for anybody who wants a multi shot springer this is not a bad fun to shoot can killer at 25 yards it will hit where you aim I will try at longer distance when I go upstate to the in laws in a few weeks.Temporary re assembly and a few test shots with new piston seal old seal was nicked from factory assembly (seal from TX200 fits just fine). I am now grouping within reasonable expectations and a junk triggerCleaned up the stock trigger and compressed the stock trigger spring slightly also polished the trigger group contact points and a touch of ultimox #226 now have about 2.6 lbs of trigger pull prefer about 1.5 for my rifles still safe and less likelihood of pulling the shots.
I'm starting to experience an intermittent problem cocking my Swarm. On occasion after breaking the barrel to cock the rifle, the trigger will not reset. I have to remove the magazine and recook the rifle. It seems to reset the trigger after the second cycle, but it's a pain since you need to remove the magazine to ensure a second pellet isn't loaded in the barrel. I have taken care to ensure I fully break the barrel each time I cock the rifle, thinking I was not going far enough to reset the trigger, but I'm still experiencing it as frequently as once or twice per magazine, but not one every magazine cycle. I have not done any modification to this rifle and other than tightening screws and cleaning the barrel, its as it came from Gamo. Any thought on what to check? Should I be reaching out to Gamo? Thanks...
