Just for the first clip or so.... I keep having flashbacks..."You'll shoot your eye out kid"
Ya know.... I do have several 1'X3'X3mm High Strength Steel Blanks that I procured from work. I have yet to see a pellet even com close to denting one of those at any range and any power. I shot one with a .22mag and it did dent it real good... didn't pass thru tho. I bet I could whip something like that up.
Did you set the backing plate at a 45 degree angle, or is it slightly more upright than that? I have a trap that I made using a 45 degree angled plate and it seemed like it needed to be a little more vertical to work optimally. I'm going to rebuild that trap and would love to benefit from your experience! Thanks,Pete
Send the info to Bill/avatar I remember him saying he liked it also

I've just been shooting at an old gooseneck plate leaned against the fence at about 57 yards. It's about 3'x3'6"x5/16" steel and I painted the backside with some old garage sale green spray paint. It "catches" the pellets pretty well. They just flatten out and fall in front of it.Think I'll build a tiny sawhorse to set in front of it for some knockdown targets.
That is a nice size indeed.doesnt it need the front catch chute like the smaller version has ?
