I have one of the Chinese filters that I did what elguapo99 did by cutting the tampon to about a 2 inch length and bought one of those thin vinyl cutting boards from wally world and cut it so it was about an inch or so to wide when rolled up inside the filter. Then cut the length down to where it is just a hair longer than the inside the filter when the end caps are screwed on so it buts up to the threads on the caps snuggly to form a good seal. Then taped the liner up on the length with tape while it was rolled up inside the tube to allow it to expand to the diameter of the ID of the tube so after each end was taped to retain the round size it was taped the full length to seal it from the filter walls. I then put one of the tampons in one end of the liner while its in the filter and installed one cap. then filled the liner with 13X molecular sieve medium to 2 inches from the end of the liner and tamped the medium down a few times to settle it and pack it tight without crushing the beads. Then install the other tampon and end cap and place in the high side line. You do not want the moisture and sieve medium contacting the walls of the filter since in HPA use it will corrode the inside of the filter just like it will a HPA tank. You must use some form of liner inside the filter.Been following this thread since I have a shoebox now but looking for a faster way to fill my 45 minute SCBA and 90 CI buddy bottle as well as several bottled guns. I like what I am seeing and hearing so far about these small compressors and since I already take cycles in my filling to let the shoebox rest when filling my tanks. It will be no change with the Chinese compressors except for less breaks to full tanks.Mike
I am sad to report my tuxing is already capping the bed. Tripping overloads after about 60 seconds or less of load time. Really upsetting me at the moment but I haven't had time to really troubleshoot it yet.
I received my Xin Yong Shi filter ahead of schedule and in record time from China (ordered on the 15th, delivered on the 21st). I have to say that this thing is built like a tank. My 13x MS desiccant should be here tomorrow. Now I'm off to Wally World to buy the vinyl cutting board to use as a liner.
I thought about the infrared thermometer and I have one called a Thermohawk but it needs new batteries, the story of my life...lol There is no air trapped as the water flows through fairly well but I just emptied the bucket and was checking the pump and I think it was turned down all the way as it seemed a little more water flowed when I turned it all the way to the other side. The ones I ordered are adjustable also and I plan to start with it at the lowest setting. But the difference did not look that great but it did work at emptying the bucket a little faster. I also bought a bigger container at wally on Friday. I think it was a 78 litre tub($12 and change) with locking lid that I am going to set up. Fill at least 1/2 way and put small holes for the tubes to go through in the lid, input at one end and output at the other end of tub. The larger size will allow me to put more ice or blue ice in the water as I have a couple of two liter bottles full of water I froze to use in it and prolly will make 2-3 more. I used to do that for the ice chest when going fishing.Yeah I have an old 93 chevy with the 5.7 in it and I run it without a thermostat in it as it runs cooler without one for some reason but know what you are saying. Well I did run it until my wife broke it...lolThanks for the suggestions guys. I may have to find my thermohawk and try to put a charge on the batteries where it may work long enough to get a reading. And I just checked my email and here is the reply that I got back. Quote:"J**** S**: yes, i know that. we write a lower temperature for safe, and it is usually for winter. summer is can be 80C" Well now, I guess they want me to cook with it also....lol As 80C is 176 degrees Fahrenheit. I will know more tomorrow if the new pump comes in as expected. The one tomorrow is 120V and the other one coming later is from china and is 240V so I can use the same outlet as pump.Oh, and while it was running that hot I felt the water coming out of the pump and thought it should have been hot, but was barely warm. But if you touch the pump, you won't leave your finger on it at all. Both first and second stage are very hot to touch along with the metal tubing. It also made the metal paintball tank get warm from the air being hot. I don't know if that is normal or not.It just don't make sense.
