Tx200 mklll shooting crows

I'm shooting Diablo pellets 8.4 gr. @ 910 fps from my tx200.
I've shot a couple crows and hear the smack of the pellet hitting them, yet they still fly off.. Granted I'm not getting head shots..
One was facing me and I hit it on the upper chest 40 yard shot
Today I think I hit the wing or the neck on a broadside shot.25 yard shot...Is my gun to weak, do I need different pellets, do I have to get head shot to kill a crow
Thanks

I can't give you any crow specific advice - I've never shot one., Normally a bird will not fly away from a head or neck shot.
A bird's feathers are layered in such a way that they will shed wind, water, or pellets hitting them head on. If you shoot a bird flying away (or facing away) pellets are more prone to slip between the feathers to the underlying bird.

How the heck do you know that..Haha..You must watch a lot of nature documentaries..
Lol..That makes perfect sense..Thank you for the tip..Like I said when I shoot them I can hear the
" Thudd" of the pellet hitting there tuff feathers..
I swear the crows just visit my house to taunt and caw, caw, caw till I come out side.."dang" birds

I shared a bit of useful information from duck hunting. Shotguns just shoot a lot of pellets at the same time. It's a lot harder to kill a duck flying into the blind than one flying away.
