Hi this is my first post and I have no experience with pcp air rifles. That said I bought a used .40 caliber badger on airgun classifiesds.
today I tried to fill the gun with air and when I opened the valve on the 74 cu. ft. tank the air came out of the barrel I am wondering if I am doing something wrong. When I bought the gun I was told that it worked as it was intended to work from the factory and that is has only been shot 10 times. I am hoping one of you can tell me if there is a secret to filling these. I watched a video and I am not doing anything different than what I see and hear on the video. What would cause the air to come out of the end of the barrel and not stay in the on board tank until the trigger releases the gas? Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

Try filling with the gun cocked.

If cocking it doesn't seal it I'd suspect some debris in the valve.

I cocked the gun and air is still coming out of the barrel like there is a direct flow from tank to barrel. Is it possible that there is a bad o ring? If it is a bad o ring or even debris in valve can someone point me to a schematic so I can have an idea of how to tear down the troubled area. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thought I would update everyone. I tried filing with air again and it was still coming out barrel so I shut the air off and put my finger over the end of barrel and released the air very slowly this time the pressure moved my finger off of the barrel I SHUT THE AIR DOWN AND TRIED AGAIN AND IT STARTED TO TAKE AIR

I'll bet there was some debris in it and fooling with it a little like you did it dislodged itself but really hard to say for sure, it's cool that you were able to get it to finally take some air!
