When did NC make them legal? I'm feeling left out here! Can't go wrong with a Texan and that slug Randy mentioned. Love mine!
So I have recently been informed that air rifle hunting is allowed in the state I reside in. I plan to purchase a big bore air rifle to hunt white tail deer when the time comes. Can anyone give me a good idea as to what large caliber (.45 or greater) air gun would be best for taking a deer when the season rolls around. I am leaning toward an Airforce Texan in .45 caliber but also see the Korean Sam Yang dragon claw and 909/909s .45. There is also the Evanix Rex which is supposed to be coming out in .45 soon. Does anyone have any experience with these guns and taking large game with them? Any advice, opinions or personal experience would be most appreciated. This will be what I pinch my pennies for over the course of the summer.-Parker

Shoot him a PM or check any of his threads.
I've had my eye on the wing shot for this. I'd be able to shoot slugs, bird shot and air bolts with it so I'd be able to use it for more than just one thing.
Matthew I've seen several bucks out on the state land not far from where you probably are. I squirrel hunt there myself and did see one with a big rack also, it was probably the second week of deer season. Here's a short video I got there with a spike, the horns are really long but only maybe 3 tines, I was talking with a guy that hunts there with a shotgun and he said he's seen that buck for three years now and said the horns always look about the same on it.
I have a Evanix Rex in .45 on order. Not too many people hunting with them yet but I hope it is good.
