FX Streamline .25 walnut

I received my Streamline yesterday and I must admit, I'm both impressed and unimpressed. I received the package (I won't say from where) as soon as I picked up the box I noticed the interior box wasn't very secure. It had alot of room to move around. Then upon opening the fx box itself as soon as I picked up the rifle the lateral movement of the action in the stock was further evidence of lack of care. Let me explain a little about myself. I'm not exactly poor but I'm not rich either I know the value of a $ and I work for every 1. That being said I shoot Hatsans they are powerful, accurate, and I don't have to take out a 5th mortgage on my house. I also until this point frequent Pyramid Air I'm a bit impatient. They always package with care shipping is free for over 150 and if I order by noon I get it the next day. This other place I pay over an extra 100 for 3 extra days and such low quality packaging that my new $1200 rifle already has scuffs and it's bounced around so much that I have to tighten the stock screws. Honestly I wish fx would've done away with the very thin layer of foam that doesn't even secure the rifle and packaged it like my sub $250 125th. In a regularbox wrapped in plastic with plain Styrofoam inserts to keep it in place. With no scratches!!! I mean for over a grand I don't feel like that's expecting to much. I apologize for the rant. If you couldn't tell I was a little disappointed at this point. Until I mounted the Airmax 30 6-24x50 that I purchased for the streamline. It took less than the first full magazine to zero. It's been storming in my neck of ky. So all I could do was from my back porch to my targets. That's only 25 yrds so I can't really speak to the absolute accuracy. But at those 25 yrds it was 1 hole slightly bigger than the pellet. Very impressive since I only ran 4 dry patches thru the barrel and started shooting. I've only shot about 50 shots so far at 25. But at 25 anyway it's very accurate. I can only imagine that when everything settles in the groups will continue to tighten up. Even with the poor packaging and care. The bottom line for me is I didn't buy it for the look and let's be honest it's gonna get more scratches. Does that mean that fx shouldn't care about the quality absolutely not. Even at a so called budget price point it's still to much money for them to not take pride in it. How can there be a pride in ownership when there's no pride in manufacturing. Don't half a** it just to make it cost less. That will only put a bad taste in someone's mouth for the brand. That being said if your fully concerned on the looks as well as performance. This might not be the best entry to high end pcps. If I wasn't more concerned with the specs above the overall cosmetics. Honestly I would've got this rifle and it would have completely turned me away from FX. I ultimately want an impact. But with the geographical handicap that I currently have. It just doesn't make sense for me to own any bottle gun. I'm eventually getting a compressor and then an impact. My Streamline has a few minor cosmetical issues. The finish isn't consistent, not necessarily at fault of fx it has a few scratches and it didn't included everything the ad said. If I didn't value specs more than looks. I would never even consider another fx. I would go with the hi lite wolverine or save all around and get the Nova. Something to consider fx. Even though it's labeled budget it's still over a grand and it sets the stage for future endeavors. Anyway if you've endured this whole novel I apologize and I will update after further testing.

Isaac,
That stinks to get a new rifle like that. Is it bad enough to warrant a return? Have you contacted the vendor and let them know the results of their
wet
poor packaging ruining your hard earned investment?
I really hope it works out for you in the end.

No not bad enough to Warrant a return. Like I said looks is one thing yes I want to look as good as possible. But if it looks good and isn't accurate then that's a problem. Yesterday was my first day to really get to test the new rifle. Probably put somewhere around 3 - 400 pellets threw the Streamline. It's been storming and really windy where I'm at. Even with the Wind let me tell you this thing is accurate! I can deal with the cosmetics as long as it will put pellets exactly where I want them. So far I can tell you it does. Also I'm curious what would you guys recommend treating the Walnut stock with? Like I said I live right next to the Kentucky River so there's a lot of moisture.

Ok so this is the very first target shot at 105 yards. I took 1 sighter to make sure chairgun was correct. Which it was. Then I took 5 shots at this target. Not an official N.U.A.H. target but I just wanted to see if the 5 shots would be good. This is a 8" shoot n see I also shot at some 3" that had tighter groups and 1 of them I put a 3 leaf clover right at the top part of the bull. I didn't take any pics of the other 1s. Because my friend shot at them too and he hasn't had as much practice with air rifles. Also at one point the bottom left corner of the target came unclipped and it was flapping around. So I would hold where I thought it would be and when it laid flat again or when I thought it was about to I would release. So the background of the target is a little peppered and I didn't think it would be a fair representation of the accuracy of the Streamline. Which I can say is absolutely there. I mean I even hit the 3" a cpl of times when the target was flapping! If u can gauge the wind and know where to hold then the Streamline will without a doubt hit your target. So if your considering the Streamline but aren't sure I can say if it meets your needs but its performance is the only thing stopping you. Get it!!! Because it won't let u down and it (mine anyway)absolutely performs as advertised!!!! I've put around a 1000 or so shots threw it and it's done exactly as it should. If I've missed I either pulled the shot or the wind shifted. Keep in mind those where the first 5 shots. The more I shot the tighter the groups got. The wind was steady 5-10 from right to left gusting to 15 or more if I had to guess. At one point it switched to left to right but once I noticed and corrected I was right back to hitting my target. This is the only high end so to speak air rifle I have shot. So I only have my AT44 to compare too. I love my AT44 and it is an awesome air rifle. I'm very happy with it as well and it's certainly not going anywhere. But the Streamline is something different all together! The violence and spring vibration u get from the Hatsan (which honestly isn't much) to tell the truth I didn't really notice it. Moving from springers to the AT44 its barely noticeable. Springers have such a violent release. It's really noticeable on scope cam videos. Then I shot the Streamline and there is barely any vibration AT ALL!!! It's a one time quick little wave and it's gone. I can't wait to mount my scope cam on it. I'm guessing there will be barely any vibration at all. I'm completely satisfied with my purchase and would definitely recommend it!!! Once I refinish the stock and make a range card for it I will be taking it hunting. Then I'll post some scope cam videos.

Due to reviews that contradict my rifle I just want to do a little update. I recently bought some adjustable scope mounts. Today I finally got a free day to dedicate fully to my streamline and me! Don't get me wrong I shoot every chance I get but today was a almost 2 tin day. I have to say I've heard people say this isn't as good as that and save a little more and get this. I would like for them to shoot mine. Just so I know if i got a 1 in a million. I zero mine at 36 yrds. The best group I got was .023 ctc and 50 yrds is under .050 all day. The 100 yrd group wasn't that impressive today because it's really windy and my 100 yrd target is at the intersection of 3 hills so u get a lot of swirling. But I have gotten under an inch before. I even shot a string over the chrony and that was what really impressed me. I shot a string when I first purchased the rifle to see where It was at. I guess after 1000s of shots the regulator has settled in. Because it was much better this time. I got a high of 903 a low of 890 an avg of 896 an es of only 13 and a sd of only 3! That's across 42 shots too. I usually only shot 4 mags and refill anyway but I shot 2 more after the ping and it was still at 880 something. Needless to say I'm impressed! From previous experience I know that consistent on paper does not translate to accurate on paper. But in this case it does. This is my first step into the higher end pcps. With only my at44 to compare to. The wildcat was one of the names or recommendations I saw. I almost got the wildcat actually before i got this one too. I cant imagine its much better if any at all. I got this one for the power wheel. Which i saw someone post that it wasnt accurate on lower settings. My rifle the .25 version absolutely is. If a starling or squirrel or any unwanted pest is in my yard within 25 30 yards im shooting it on low. Ive shot countless pests in the yard on low. The best part u probably would get a 100 shots on low. I haven't tried it. But I've shot a full 10 rd mag and the air didn't even move 1 line of 10 bar so.... Anyway after the chrony i was so excited I had to share. I initially was planning on turning up the hs a little to get speed up around 920 925. Thats around where my at44 likes to shoot. But its running so smooth now I'm almost afraid to mess with it.

HI Isaac,
I'm considering the Streamline too. Can you tell me how loud it seems? I see you have a 125th. I had a Hatsan 135 and currently a diana 48. I know it's weird to compare a PCP to a magnum springer, but could you? Do you have any of those stackable baffles on your Streamline? If so, how many? How much louder would it be without them?
I'm trying to decide between a .22 and .25. Your post might have convinced me to go with the .25 :-)
