I don't think anyone is criticizing your polishing of the sheridan at all. if you go back and read through, someone innocently mentioned that he didn't remember them being so shiny, and then in response to that comment, 20cal (who literally wrote the book on sheridan's) responded with what the finish was officially called (satin) and then later commented that the degree of gloss wasn't consistent over the years, indicating that there was room for some guns to be shinier than others. I don't see anyone even hinting at a criticism. Your gun looks great. what you do with it is your business. Its just that the question did come up about what the finish looked like during that period, and so people responded about that question - and again, not directed necessarily at you or your gun. The '78 - '90 guns were matte finish, if you look at one of them you can see that they are not glossy at all. Then starting in '91, the C9 (and the nickel benjamins) were highly polished. So, the finish from the factory has changed over time. My '77 silver streak is pretty glossy, but probably not quite as much as my '93. Enjoy your silver streak!

Sylvia is late 60's with the hold down safety. She has the satin finish. I did adjust the wood finish to match (not shown here) but I don't intend to change the metal finish. The wood was just darkened at the pump handle from use over the years.

$50?!?
