It is a very good way to learn what works. I'm working on an article for the June issue of Airgun Hobbiest on just such a notion. What is a CO2 Gun. What is a PCP. & What is Dual Fuel?. If you feed that system regulated air at 1100 PSI you will have the best results. Filling it to 3000 is a really bad idea. That said the QB valve isn't large enough to give big power on air vs CO2. That is why everyone takes the filters out and drills the body for flow. The fittings all go together so why is a bad idea to pressurize a CO2 gun with High Pressure Air?#1 the mainseal material can only take CO2 type pressures in the 1000 PSI Max range without actually shooting slower because of seal to seat stiction forces spiking. Fixed with harder seal &/or bigger spring?#2 the valve fixing arrangement as not meant to deal with these pressures either. John Burroughs called me and told me 1550 PSI for QB Max. John would measure shear strength and fold factors to come up with practical limits that were based on experience in the LAB. He had blown about everything up that would blow. #3 tubing concentricity. I concurred with JB that the system was designed for 1000 PSI. Tubing variances were such that even using fine threads the tubing just wasn't thick enough in places and varied in side to side thickness enormously. The wall would be plus or minus .02" on a .059" wall thickness. We could seal things by varying the seal thickness at the breech seal where the tube wall could be .04" to .075" thousanths" thick. Later tubing wasn't as bad but it still varies 5 times what American 4130 would. When a manufacture takes a gun to a 1991 Chinese CO2 standard (first Adult China Made GUN!)while copying a 60's engineered gun the materials available and machining skills would limit the quality and possibility of what that action can accomplish without changing the tubing out. I did the design engineering and the Chinese did the production engineering. The first 1500 QB's were hand assembled in Gardena California so the quality standard I had committed to was met.The standard was quite high and was met on most guns. It gave Shanghai Airgun (SAG) a reputation that was fostered by Mac1 handbuilt status on 1500 guns. Butt plates say Assembled in USA from China parts. The barrels were exceptional and made with German Rifling bits(same as LW uses). Now the product is 25 years old and Beeman Brand was acquired by SAG. Now the Big 5 down the street has a Beeman Model QB78 CO2 rifle for sale (I engineered). That should say Mac1 QB. Ironically Doc BB hated CO2 guns more than he hated being called DOC BB. He sold Out so SAG decides what belongs with the Beeman LOGO on it. Logic would be a Pump. He hated those even more. Mostly because SheriDans & CO2 guns generally made spring guns look very inaccurate. Recoiless will do that. I'll get to work on what Crosman/SAG should do. That's now in my LAB.The fittings at Home Depot rated for 125 PSI screw directly into the 4500 PSI fittings. They belong together like pink and dirt.I will try to raise the awareness of what works best and what should be trusted right next to your face. Realistically overkill is the only solution that is sensible. Wall thickness and material quality is King in High Pressure. No upside in making things under-rated or creating weaknesses that were not thought through. #4The QB drop down adapter is certainly a good point of reference. I had nothing to do with the Tank out the front model other than to put the conceptual notion in their brain. That was done SO poorly and should stand in the way of HIGH PRESSURE THOUGHTS alone for that variant. The QB is a great platform or I would not have done it. SAG came to me ORIGINALLY in 1991 to help them do a Spring gun. When I stopped laughing I asked them PUMP or CO2? Spring is not an option.TIME FOR A SIDELEVER PUMP. American assembled from? Doesn't matter as long as it has steroid guts. Anyone can copy as we have seen blantantly (world wide). SAG paid $10K to have a 25 year best seller and have the momentum to vertically integrate Distribution and acquire an American Iconic Brand. That is the measure of Any Factory success IMO.History says copying the 1964 sears version of the Crosman 167 was a pretty savvy move in 1991 at the same time that Crosman bought Benjamin/Sheridan from Ray Katt. Since then Crosman has completely ruined the quality of the classic American Pumpers. They have thrown the Sheridan brand under the bus and we have no quality in pumps now. Time to show them what they should do, since they seem to be lost in Venture Capital Chaos. No time for long term?TimmyMac1
I wish I knew when the stuff would get done but I have no crystal ball. The machinist is backed up and critical stuff is only getting done right now. Hopefully the situation will change soon. Best way to know when the Bulk adapters are ready is to put it on your wish list at Mac1Airgunshop.com and you will get an auto reply as soon as it shows in stock again. You really don't need a bulk adapter. A CO2 cap with male QC straight out the front would work. Just need to put a blockade on the inside to keep the inlet seal in position. That would be a cheaper assembly. $30 plus $35 for extension
You do not need to degas the gun between uses. There is no facility for degassing other than firing air out.Tim
The extension tube cap will have a Ninja Male Fill Inlet Quick Connect screwed into it. That will all be done when you get the Cap. The Yoke that connects a Tank to a gun to fill it has a Female Quick Connect on the end of a flexible hose. A collar on the Female QC needs to be retracted to fit the male QC. Nothing needs to be screwed into anything. You just make sure the collar gets fully engaged before pressuring the system. there is a bleeder on the yoke so when you raise the pressure from the tank to the gun to the amount you need you shut the tank valve off and bleed the line pressure so you can disconnect the line. You never pull the collar back on a Quick Connect still under pressure or the oring in the Quick Connect will blow out and you will need to go find a fresh pair of underwear.Be careful and respectful of high pressure air. Tim. ok think I got it the extension tube cap with the ninja male fill inlet quick connect is it product code :Mtatoad,M1ttslqc,M1trans

Just wishing, Are you thinking about designing a sidelever pump? That would be a dream come true.Jimmy

I'm about done doing the prototype. It will be operational by April 1st. With any luck it will be at 2018 SHOT. I cannot believe we haven't seen any new pump Airguns from the major manufacturers. The question at this point "who is gonna make it". Everyone likes to steal designs but this is not going to be free! I don't think I need to prove myself worthy of doing designs at this point. I'd rather eat dirt than give another development away. If nobody is willing to pay, the Steroid sidelever will be a non-starter.TimmyMac1
