To start off, I think the idea is a gimmick ( and I have no plans of doing it ) but, some others may like the idea and may want to pursue the idea and I thought I should share.
What's got me so interested is Bob with the Brod Cothran valve build and Travis now working with Cothran on the balanced valve system.
Too me, the advantage of the balanced valve is the lower cocking force but efficiency can be better and power can be the same with a "standard" valve at the cost cocking effort.
It appears as if the balanced valve "dwell" is determined by the back pressure of the projectile since the "pressure release" is in the "throat/exit port" to balance the valve.
The faster the projectile out of the barrel the less the dwell. If the pressure release was routed out of the "throat/exit port" that would be a game changer.
But,
To accomplish 1/2 the cocking effort, something else "gimmick to me" may work. So here's the idea.
On the Mrod platform or Condor/Talon, there may be an opportunity to used a gas strut on the bolt to decrease the pull effort (cocking effort) in half and the push to close the bolt by the force of the gas strut.
IE: cocking effort 15 Lbs, install gas strut and cocking effort is now 7.5lbs and closing force is now 7.5 lbs
I can imagine on the Mrod platform a small gas strut mounted on the side of the upper receiver (mounted dove tail configuration-no screwing into receiver) and the other end in the back of the bolt.
On a Talon or Condor forward on the barrel shroud components.
It's just a thought to share for people that may want to investigate the power of "assist". I truly have no plans of doing such a thing.

^X2, the side lever is the answer, easy to cock and also to close to load a bullet in a snug chamber.... The gas strut would increase that effort....
Tim's idea would work, though.... you just need to find room for it.... and not use tight fitting bullets....
There is no reason for efficiency to be worse with a balanced valve, providing it can self-regulate.... because then you can adjust the dwell with hammer strike.... Lloyd's balanced valve and the one in the Slayer are good examples....
