I just picked one up a while back along with a Crosman 766. Did all the things to the AM 77 that we do to the 2100s. Turned out pretty accurate. I like to add weight to the rear stock but the butt plate is molded on. Gonna drill a hole in it and shoot it full of silicone and pop a black plastic plug in it. the 766 is in the "todo" pile. I wish there was a drop in trigger or a good mod. I got mine a little better but not like I like em.
No offense to Crosman or the gun intended.. I love mine but....Ever notice that there are always a buttload of refurbs to be had?Our first 2 came from Crosman as refurbs.. never has a single glitch out of them.. they are the ones I posted with the walnut stocks.
Not for nothing but.....Walmart sells a cheap plastic pumper marketed by Bear River? I think. It's the Sportsman 900? Took me a couple returns to get a great one but hey, that's one of the perks of buying cheap guns at Walmart..... drag it back in there behind your truck and they'll replace it. The trigger is every bit as nasty as the 2100/2200 but, for a cheap, off the shelf, kid friendly plinker... it fits the bill. In today's world... young boys.... and girls for that matter.. seem to find the outward design of the gun a bit more tactically attractive than the run of the mill Daisy 880. No offense to Daisy lovers..
