First impression - Bone Collector scope

Yesterday, my son surprised me with a Bushnell Bone Collector 3 - 9 X 40 scope. Last night, while the family all sat around and talked, I would look at the new scope and pet it every now and again.
This morning, I installed it on the Maximus I am using this season for squirrels. I just finished sighting it in at about 30 yards. In a word: SWEET!
After bringing it to the woods for a squirrel hunt, I will add on to this "report”.
EDIT:
12/25/16 Yesterday morning, I went out for an early morning hunt in my favorite woods. (

) When I got to the woods, the air was very moist (fog everywhere); but the scope remained clear. My eyeglasses fogged up though. I shot at two squirrels and killed the first one. I hit the second one three times in the upper body but could not close the show; and it escaped. The scope: The scope is doing its part with a clear view and plenty of distance magnification. On a couple of occasions, I dialed it up to full magnification to see if I could find a hiding squirrel. There was no distortion of any kind. This one is a definite improvement over my old Bushnell.
On a side note: I installed the scope on low rings that I had in my parts box. The scope clears the barrel only if the rear sight is removed. And there is no room for a scope cover unless the bottom is shaved off. This keeps the scope nice and low.

I've been looking at that little AG. Would be nice to have a quick little gun to get into action quickly. My .257 fully outfitted for what I do with it is well north of 14 lbs. Grrr!!!
and I've shaved the lower part of a few covers in my time. Very worth the effort for a LOW Scope!!!
Congrats on both "Toys"!!!

Mike I noticed the picture you had of that new scope in season of the maximus thread that you started. It does look fairly compact is what I want for my Mrod, because of the type of hunting I've been dealing with in the state land here it's not real often I'd be getting a shot at more than 50 yards too. I'm going to go check that scope out at PA and see what they're getting for it.

Michael, the Maximus with scope is probably less than seven pounds. I have heard other complain about the accuracy of those rifles; but mine is very consistent - a definite killer in the woods. I have recommended it to those who want a PCP to carry on longer hunts.
Wayne, I didn’t see the Bone Collector at Pyramyd Air; but here (Optics Planet) are the three scopes in that line -

Good luck with your choice.
