I just left the Crosman website where I convinced myself to place an order for the Maximus Hunter package, in .22 caliber, w/Centerpoint 6 X 40 AO scope. What I liked about it was that it came without the open sights, and had a knob at the muzzle which wasn't identified, but which I believe is either a muzzle weight, or protector? In either case, it appears to be much like the European design that allows for the installation of a suppressor, moderator, air diffuser, or other such device, to be screwed on? It looks like it has a plastic thread protector cap on the end? I believe that this is the only Maximus model offered in the USA that has that feature, and I only see it offered at the Crosman website? Thus, being from NY State, and subject to sales tax, because Crosman operates out of NY State, I got stuck with shipping and tax. It came to $190.77, but I think it's still a good buy. I could have waited until next Friday and maybe saved $10 or so on shipping, but I didn't want to do that. I'm looking forward to seeing exactly what Crosman will be sending me, as models get changed, and features are tweeked. It can't hurt me much though as nothing else on the market is as good as I expect this to be, and certainly isn't any cheaper, apples to apples.
