Hi Ron,There is an airgun range not too far from you in Bristol, WI. http://bagaclub.com/They have a 30 yard indoor range open during winter on Saturdays and in the spring and summer have field target and bench matches. Me and my wife have been planning to go up there and if you want to meet there on a Saturday, I'd be happy to let you try out my Disco.
You guys rock! Great answers and fast too. next question. After searching this site in regards to the Benjamin Discovery, that seems like a good way to dip my toe in the PCP pond. As I stated earlier Im sitting on $700+ worth of Cabelas cards and I see cabelas has a Discovery and hand pump for $436 leaving me some $$$ for a scope. Im really interested in a mil dot scope. If I opt for the Discovery, can anybody recommend a good scope? Also, can a regular powderburner scope work on the Discovery?
...but as I spend more time shooting, I want to stretch out the range.
Do I want to go to .22 cal? Do I want to stick with springers? Pest control in a subdivision (trying to stay covert but have also spoken with all 4 immediate neighbors who are all on board with my pest control measures) remains the goal.
If I go to .22 cal, want can I expect that I don’t already enjoy with .177?
If I go to a PCP or CO2 what can I expect different from springers? I want accuracy, quick humane kills, low noise. Moderate cost as well. I don’t need to own a top dollar, high end, match grade weapon but I prepared to spend a fair amount for 50 yard accurate kills and enjoyable bench shooting.
At this point I don’t know enough to even ask the right questions since Im so new to this hobby. Questions like which brand air guns are preferred/accurate ones and which should I not bother with?
If It makes sense to unload all 3 of these springers to fund a new weapon, Im cool with that to. Thanks in advance for any input.
