You need more distance to shoot, is there a possibility you can set up well lit up target outside of your shop somehow, shoot from inside to outside in the comfort of your shop?
I figure that's it $100 well spent considering how much fun I'm having messing with it and shooting it
I all honesty, that's not too shabby considering what you got to work with. There is a reason they call them "Jumpers". QuoteI figure that's it $100 well spent considering how much fun I'm having messing with it and shooting itThat right there is what it's all about Terry!
Great job on the trap, some good ideas there I might borrow.
I noticed that you have the front rest almost at the front of the forearm. Try it just in front of the trigger guard. This is closer to the balance point and should result in better groups.

They need to be able to move a bit. That said, once you get that Armada, you may not want to mess with it any more. PCPs shoot accurately pretty easily. No weird behaviors to account for; you'll just need a source of air for it. If you find you're not getting as tight of groups as you'd wish, loosen up the nut at the end of the barrel shroud a bit. That helped my Marauder quite a bit. (same action, different stock)
Terry: All things considered, Not Bad Shooting ! Very Good Job on the pellet trap ! Best Regards - Tom
I don't plan to discount the NP2 once the Armada comes. The different characteristics of the NP2 intrigue me. Reading all these threads about new springer/gas ram owners having issues getting used to them at least shows me that I'm not alone but also gives me motivation to figure it out. I'm going to dissect the trigger today and get the SLT installed. Also thinking about sending it to someone...not sure who...to get a professional tune on it. Interesting things these gas rams.

Interesting things these gas rams. That's how I am. If you just want to consistently hit your target with no drama, you'll reach for the Armada. It's just like a .22 rimfire, but with no noise or smoke. When you want to spice it up a little, or make it more challenging, you'll grab the springer. Or for some informal plinking with no support gear but a tin of pellets? Springer again. The only problem is that these guns will tear up most plinking targets pretty fast. (tin cans don't last, for example, like they would with a 350 fps gun) Pro Tip: For great plinking targets, cut your small wood scraps into little blocks. They can take a few hits each, esp. hardwood. It's oddly rewarding to see how much damage the pellets cause to them. Or put an eye screw in them and hang them off of something and they'll dance pretty well for you.I'm a wine drinker, so I also use wine corks. Boy, do THEY fly far when hit! Thicker plastic bottles.
