Curious as to why you want a replacement gas ram for a rifle under warranty? Send the rifle back, they're not going to send you the ram without the rifle. If you want to spring for the cost to replace it, it's 26.00 plus 4.00 shipping, replacement seal is 1.78.

Oh thought someone had gotten just the gas spring under warranty. Maybe wrong. LOL

I gave Crossman a call today. They said they will replace the gas ram for a one time replacement and no longer warranty the gun if I do the work. All they asked for was the part numbers for the gas ram and they will send one out no charge.
I want to make sure I tell them the right one so if someone can double check for me it would be great. I found the gas spring to be item #3 and part number BT9M22-00-5. Can anyone confirm this for me ?
Should I ask for a new piston seal as well ?
I have a BT9M22WNP

An easy experiment that's worth doing (to see if you have a different problem) is to load a pellet and close the barrel, then open it again and pop the pellet out (with a dowel) and examine the pellet skirt for evidence of being crushed. If you see any skirt damage, you may need to chamfer and polish the breech.

All parts are on order with Crossman at no charge at a one time exchange. Thank you Crossman.
Moly paste is on order for re-assembly.
One question on the piston/combustion chamber. If I were to polish it out, how far should you go with the polish/de-burr ? I have the resources to mirror polish. Is this necessary our worth while or way too much.

Most people who hone their cylinders do to leave small micro groves in a hatch pattern to hold the Moly Paste in place and provide better lubrication....
A mirror finish would defeat this purpose...

Not mirror. Listen to OleTomCat on that one...Needs to hold some lube.
Here's a very nice write up from charliedatuna and I think parts of it will apply to your rebuild.
