40 shots from a 180cc tube I do not know if you can get that and maintain a the ftlb that you want, I have the exact same gun and I prefer 15 good powerful regulated shots with the 18gr pellets. Your accuracy looks good, hitting a 75yard shotgun shell says that. What is your goal exactly?
I think that the post that you were reading might have been for theAT44-10 long, but Im not sure.
You can get 40 or so shots at 24fpe, which is plenty of energy (AirArmsHuntingSA had a .177 shooting doves all the way to 125 yards at 24 ft/lbs) with the JSBs exact 15.89 and the regulator set at 120 bars BUT you will benefit a lot in ES and shot count if you tune it by plugging 5 holes and leaving just one facing to the TP and polish every rough spot in the valve area (TP, Hammer, etc) and lubricate the o-rings with silicone grease and some Hopes 9 gun oil in the metal parts (NOT in the valve as it will cause dieseling!).Also try to tweak that hammer and see what are the best results you can get with the AT44 untuned then if you want more tune it. If accuracy is not decent try an 11º re-crown and barrel cleaning. One more thing if you decide to go for 40 shots @24 fpe when hunting you will need a lot more accuracy because 6 fpe really change the game, if you are comfortable with loosing 10 shots is very possible you can get 30 fpe inside a 20 fps ES across a full 30 shot string with 18.1 JSBs but instead of plugging 5 holes try 3.
Thats the path I took first hammer spring then valve mod with the exception you have a regulator so you should have better results than I do, I never asked do you have an LDC installed?

Silence is golden, but all of mine have been anodised black.
I did a short video showing how to install and tune the regulator with the Hatsan AT44-10
No problem thats what the hobby is about, if I can help someone to work on their gun themselves is a plus...
