Appears to be well made from what I can see but weighs 10+Lbs. cocking 28/34 lbs. still needs to be shot more it's shoots 7.9 grain 1091 fps and 10.19 grain 938 fps. Just like the way the gun looks guess I still have kid in me the lock up is ball detent and doesn't feel cheap to heavy for a youngster it's a adult tactical gun. Body is synthetic. Only $148.00 at Walmart.

It needs more lead down the 12 land barrel but here is a 31 yard group at the #8 other holes at center I was adjusting sites on scope. I'm using bi-pod to shoot. Very neat rifle.

Sounds like a normal break barrel I can see the end of the barrel counter sunk in a half inch. It has a twang on the spring when shot but it still dieseling some as usual on new china made guns. Build on the gun is solid so far as for the warranty is only 30 days on my user manual it shows the trigger is very good not hard to pull maybe 8 lbs. The piston seal is excellent when I cock it ,it has good suction kinda reminds me of the quest 1000 build.

That's the same brand that does the Wal-Mart Airsoft guns, right?  And you said it's a break-barrel?  Might have to take a look at one of them.  Certainly could use a new gun...

It's a cheap fun gun to shoot. Pretty accurate with a bi-pod they say bi-pods on springers are no good. No issues here just shoot off my table. After a lube tune it's shooting 7.4 grain 996 fps.

honestly, it looks like a standard break barrel, all souped up with cosmetics.  Most of it wouldn't really have a function in a gun like that.  Doesn't mean I don't want one, though...

It hold the body together, it has to be removed to take it apart anyways it's just for looks instead of a plain nut and bolt.

I would love to have something like that on my Marauder, but then again I found a thumb hole wooden stock for her at DiscoRus that I am considering after the Wicked Witch from the north moves down and I get my TX200 tuned.

So much to do and so little money. :(

Don't mean to laugh but been there done that she knows me know I usually get what I want now most of the time. I use to call FED-EX or UPS and had them hold at the dock and when I got off work I swing by to pick it up.

If I really have to hide something. I buy a postal money order, have the item shipped to my sister's house, and then pick it up while the wife is out shopping. I then put it in the gun cabinet. If she asks about it, I tell her my brother in law lent it to me. If she doesn't ask about it right away I tell her I have had it for a long time. This works all the time. :)

If its based off the ar1000 I'd say it might be an ok air rifle.  The trigger is adjustable and you can do a trigger tune that makes it pretty nice as far as I hear... I thinking about pulling trigger on one just bc the way it looks lo... no one else has anything at that price point as sweet looking as that!!

Finally was able to shoot mines at first I just fired one and it dieseled bad so I clean it and fired a couple more shots and all u hear a thump and the pellet hitting. The pellet hitting is louder than the rifle firing.I have a 3/4 backstop wood and the thing shot straight thru it. Pretty impressive. It's rated at 1000 fp with lead pellets does not even advertise anything bout alloy pellet fps. Also the gun is very heavy after firing it for a while.I think the rifle weighs in at a little more than 10 lbs.the buttstock is adjustable so is the cheek rest over all for the price it's a pretty sweet gun. I also bought the black ops bb revolver kinda looks like the Dan wesson but at half the price and it's a ll metal.

10.6 lbs. is the weight of the gun. Mine was shooting 1068 to 1100 fps with 7.9 grain before it did a lube tune.

I dunno how to do that so I'm not even gonna try cause I tried on a crosman 1077 and well it's junk now and then on a qb89 and now it doesn't cock so I resiliency wanna destroy this airgun. I can work on PBS easily but come air rifles I not so good.

This one is a pain to do have to have special tools to get it out. My tools aren't special I just made my own to make work. The spring guide has a metal wasker at the end that rests on the trigger unit so you would have to have a tool to slip past the trigger unit to take tesion off trigger to slide trigger out. Hey guys, looking to see how those Black Ops rifles are holding up. I just purchased one yesterday and am looking forward to getting some lead down range. The stock scope seems to have pretty good eye relief but gonna swap out for a better one this morning and then will focus on sighting in. Wife was a little upset when I brought it home but I think she is over it now! It is a sweet looking rifle and "dang" heavy!

ive had mine for a few months and put about 1000 pellets or so through it, shoots great but the included scope crapped out on me yesterday.  was planning on replacing it anyway.  was shooting and all of a sudden it was all over the place.  the windage and elevation knobs no longer move the poi. so looks like utg is going to be getting some more business from this guy, and burris rings so I can keep the scope in its optimal adjustment range.

so gun is good for the price, accurate enough to head shot a nutter at 50 yds.  the scope on the other hand cant put up with the recoil/twang for very long.  I would buy another one

I also paid 148 a few months ago. I hear after the first of the year walmart looses their exclusive rights and it will be available elsewhere.  got a feeling not many here would even consider buying it unless airgun depot or pyramid carries it.

so maybe next year we will hear more about this gun.  I read somewhere maybe even on this sight that the inards are identical to the tx 2000 or is it 200?  idk

I noticed from the pics on the first page that this gun has the mystery trigger that the beeman kodiak X2 uses. If you have one of those i bet you could swap out the breach blocks and the sniper rifle could then use the .22 barrel. That would be way cool!
Title: Re: Black ops sniper rifle in .177 cal.(Pics & Video Added)

The Spring shown above  is the same as the Beeman RS2. The Piston is the same too.  It is shorter than the spring in the TF89.  The TF89 has a longer piston and spring and a longer barrel lever. So theoretically one could  swap out the barrel for a Beeman RS2 dual caliber model without having to remove the lever pin which is a BEAR to get out. So this is a medium powered springer which could approach 800fps as a 22 rifle.   It will not be as powerful as a tf89. This is an RS2 with a fancy stock. Thats a nice thing.

just picked one up at Dicks Sporting Goods last week for $140. Its a nice looking gun and shoots well although loud at first it also dieseled a lot.  the barrel was very dirty out of the box and I believe blowing oil from the spring chamber for a few shots.

I have heard others say the scope mount and bi pod mounts are plastic but mine are metal as they may have upgraded a few items after the initial run.  It seems to be nice quality all around.

Actually its real name is Norica, Ignite is a marketing name for the U.S, Norica is a well known Spanish company thats been producing quality  air rifles since the 1920s

I bought the Black Ops and in the process of tuning and tweaking a bit, trigger works and seals. Added a Richter 3-9x50 AOE as the factory was a tad bit weak.

I picked one of these up for my grandsons 18th birthday present a little more than 3 weeks ago.

So far he has about 300 rounds down range,  We did have to go through extensive pellet testing to find the right ones, but honestly I don't think we still have enough rounds down range to really see how well it can perform.

I did have to remove a lot of gunk out of the barrel before I let him shoot it, and I also removed all the screws I could see and applied blue locktite to them.

I have been watching this thread to see if anyone has tried to do a complete re tune to remove the factory gunk on the internals, and just how to accomplish a re tune.

it dieseled a bit as I expected, but it has now quieted down, I sure wish I had a Chronograph!

Still not sure if this gun is a Chinese knock off or a Norica as I have seen posted in here, but the manual it came with says made In china, I myself put about 30 of those 300 rounds down range and the groupings were getting much better after we found the right pellet this particular rifle seems to like, but not surprising at all, I expected it for sure.

It advertises as a 1250 Fps Rifle but we all know that claim is with the lighter alloy pellets, My guess would be around 1000 Fps with the  Gamo Red Fire 7.9 g.

I have also seen a couple of reviews on you tube that seem to show the same Ignite Black Ops rifle with a Nitro piston and a nonadjustable length stock according to the reviewer instead of the one I purchased for him at Walmart that has the typical spring piston and the fully adjustable stock.

This guy actually had both rifles in his You Tube review, the nitro version comes in a much thicker box and the lack of stock extension was very obvious on the Nitro version.

Today, with almost no wind, I managed to shoot off two rounds at about 30 yards to gauge how well my grandson is doing with his new skill set compared to mine,  and I was shocked!  2 pellets almost through the same hole! just made the hole a bit fatter.

One thing we quickly discovered,  it was much more accurate with the Bi Pod as far forward as we could get it on the side rails, the Factory scope was Junk for sure.   I replaced it the same day we bought it with a 3-9x50 Tasco ,and also got rid of those tall look under type scope rings, with the much lower STD rings that came with the Tasco,

Time will tell how well that scope will hold up, but at least it gives a very sharp and crisp view compared to the factory scope. its seems to be holding its Zero fine for now.

One thing for sure, its very Heavy at over 10 lbs ,too heavy for him to eliminate pests with unless he sets up a ambush in the prone position.

I am hoping to see other owners of this air rifle post what they think about this model and how to do a re tune.  I am curious though about its origins like I mentioned above, his manual says made in China.

Hi Rusty,
I have it confirmed, the model Ignite Black ops my grandson and I have is definitely made in China, I just found it stamped under the serial number and finally got a hold of a customer support rep, and he also confirmed it.

Can you post how you took this rifle apart to re tune it? and what lubes you are using?  seems their customer support info on this model is weak and I really don't want to ship this thing out on my grandson, he absolutely loves it.
I can see all kinds of junk where cocking lever engages the Spring from the underside of the rifle with the barrel closed

A bit about the Black Ops which is the same as a Beeman Silver Kodiak (only in black with none changeable barrels).

My local pawn shop has one for $99. Kinda unique but, I think I'll pass. Break Barrels are a little scary to me from a pawn shop.

Hiya folks!

It just so happens that I purchased a pair of Black Ops .177 cal rifles for my girlfriend's son (8 y/o) and I to target practice in the backyard. While there is no way that he could (or should even try to) break the barrel on this monster he was able to get multiple shots in the red on a 2 inch target at 10 yards using the bipod. I was also able to get multiple shots to create ragged holes at the same distance in prone position.

I have to agree with the previous postings regarding the poor quality of the scope, but the gun is dependable (300 rounds in so it better be!) and will become my primary target practice weapon in the backyard.

mine is just as accurate as my hatsan at 44 out to 50 yrds.  the shooting cycle isn't very good.  its really rough to cock and the trigger couldn't be much worse.  I rarely shoot it anymore but it gets the job done.  I killed many squirrels with it for the first few months I had it.  then I got a pcp.  so a couple years later I still think its a decent gun for the money.  I haven't tried the new version with the gas ram in it.  it probably fixed the main complaint I have about my spring powered one.

Jpb, did you get the piston version or springer? I seen one at Dicks a few months ago but read they downgraded a few features to keep the same price.

Mine was the springer version. They didn't have the piston available at the time we purchased it. I've moved on to a Gamo WFP but my girlfriend's son is still shooting his. However, he's still not big enough to break the barrel...will probably be another few years before he can do that out on his own.

anyone have a beeman Kodiak with a wood stock?  I will trade you the stock from my black ops sniper for yours?

from my understanding they are interchangeable.  or does anyone know where I could by a beeman stock or any other wood stock that will fit?

I like the gun just want to turn it into something that's more suited to small game hunting, and the way it comes its just too heavy and akward to carry in the bush

Just for kicks...i bought a 6x24x50 el cheapo (made in china) brand scope on amazon for my piston powered BOS. Paid $45. It has really held up surprisingly well. I have yet to find the ammo it really likes. Seems kinda picky.
