Picked up a 1377.....

Well I picked up a nice little 1377 from big 5 after work on Sat along with a tin of crossman pointed pellets. Man what a fun little gun, I printed out some nice little groups too ( 3 shots at 7 yards into 1/4"). But mostly it is a superb little pop can blaster. In addition it's like a stress ball for me: just go out pump and shoot then repeat
. Theeen I took a peak down the ole barrel
here is what I found:
That view is looking from the front, if you look to the left side of the rifling you will notice a black line running parallel through the barrel. Turns out that my barrel had a fairly deep gash that ran the whole length of the barrel
, I must say I'm not really surprised lol. I had intended to put a longer barrel, steel breech, and red dot on anyway so I suppose its not all that bad.

Indeed, as soon as I saw the gash I thought that I would see signs of stress on the outside too as crosman barrels are so thin, nothing. It's almost like it is a optical illusion.

I would get a replacement barrel from Crosman. Even though you may replace it in the future it's always good to have a 10" barrel in your parts bin. Never know what your next build will need.
Just a phone call to Crosman should get you a barrel.
