I believe the trigger issue is to avoid lawsuits. They make it with a long heavy pull so if standing before a judge they can say they did their best and it's safer than most. Fixing the trigger is easy, there are several ways to do it aside from the expensive aftermarket trigger. The easiest is replacing the adj screw with a longer one. The oem screw is 3x6mm, use a 10-12mm and you'll have full adjustment. Or you can use a spacer in there which basically moves the sears closer to release like the screw does but without the excess first stage slack. Then there's the way I do it, by doing a full trigger job, but that involves taking the gun apart to get the trigger out and many aren't willing to do that. It is the best way tho and you can make the trigger as light and short as you want, and smooth as glass. I think the Crosman/Benj guns are great because the overall design and price is excellent, you just need to tune it to get the most from it. Your other option is buying an expensive German gun like an HW80 for substantially more so the decision is up to you. I consider it fun to tune them and a challenge to get the best performance, like souping up a car. You also get some satisfaction from doing it yourself and it's fun to have one that outperforms your friends even if he paid much more for his.
Good replys people , nice to hear the comments.I did not realise the heavy triggers were to protect against lawsuits.
