Title: RWS Model 34 parts needed
Post by: AmBraCol on July 22, 2012, 02:33:02 PM
A friend just brought over a Diana Model 34 marked 10 88 (if my old eyes are not deceiving me) as to date of manufacture.  It has a broken rear sight leaf.  It snapped off right where the hole goes to the rear screw that holds it to the rifle.  Is there a source for a replacement rear sight?  In the meantime I've fitted a Mendoza open notch rear sight to the dovetail on the receiver/spring housing and will take it to the gun club one of these days to see what the ol' girl can do with locally available pellets, probably Gamo brand, we'll have to see what turns up as I've no 5.5mm's on hand of any sort.  Also, the rear screw that affixes the action to the stock by way of the trigger guard looks like a mean kid with a worn out phillips head screw driver had ago at it.  I WAS able to snug it down with a slotted screw driver and also snugged up the front screws as well.  Is there a source for this screw?  I'm looking for U.S. based sources if possible as I'll be up there later this fall and would be able to put 'em in my suitcase to bring back with me when I return.  Any help in locating parts would be welcome.  Does anyone make a Nitro spring system for this rifle?

Thanks, guys!

I don't think so.
If they did, I'd be all over that one for my M52. ;)

Umarex is your best bet for finding a factory unit.  IMO if your are going to stick with open sights get the Williams peep sight on PyramydAir.  I think it's 29 bucks and it fits the dovetail.  Much better than the factory rear sight and probably less expensive.

I may be able to help on both the sight and the rear action screw. I have a complete "4 leaf" rear sight and a brand new rear action screw. pm me and we'll work something out.

this one needs a lil clean up but functions as intended.
