Just reading different posts and watching videos on lubing up the springers and was wondering if it is really necessary to use chamber lube after every 1000 shots as some have recommended?

unless the gun has a leather piston seal, never, I say again NEVER lube the compression chamber.

Two very small drops, no more, working the piston back and forth while not going to full cock. If you want to use it. I only use it with old leather sealed guns. A modern properly lubed gun really does not need it. Be sure there is no petroleum in it. Again, a spare amount shouldnt hurt but too much can.
