Inside my Mrod

I noticed that my efficiency went to pot almost over night so I decided to go inside my gun and figure out what was going on. I filmed a video of going into the gun. It might be interesting for those of you wanting to see what the inside of a 80fpe Mrod looks like. I'm going to put up a follow up video soon of tuning it for 50-60fpe. It might also be a useful video for someone new to PCPs and would like a simplified explanation as to how things work inside of a Crosman gun.

good stuff Travis !
good video's too.
should be very helpful to anyone wanting to see the inside of an Mrod, and get good experienced info on tuning.
regarding the collapsed vinyl tube issue, You might find this old discussion interesting.
We were talking about the "plenum effect" that can result when a depinger migrates to the rear of the airtube.
My fix for this is in reply #63 of this thread. happy to report that 2 years and thousands of shots later, it it still holding up just fine.
enjoy...

Travis, can I ask what size transfer port you are using with this setup ?
Also, the
hill
de-pinger is installed against the gauge block. If using a valve assembly without a valve return spring, you can place a 1" ( or so ) long
spacer between the gauge block and the de-pinger. I have some extra spacers available ( see pic ). If anyone is interested in one of the spacers, they can shoot me an email at:

Hi Tim,
I think I'd only need the spacer if I was going to try to make big power levels again and run it without the return spring. I don't plan on doing that now that I have my .357. For the power levels I'm making now, letting the depinger rest against the gauge block seems to do just fine.
I'm using .18 transfer ports.

They are still working for me,
Must be that the alien's are intercepting your video feed. That's really the only logical explanation 👾

I use uMatrix to block ads and scripts from running in my browser unless I allow them. This has the side effect of blocking uTube videos embedded in pages like these. Perhaps you have something similar running? If so, allowing GTA as an exception should fix it. If that is not it, could be your browser's Flash plugin (these don't look like html5, which is opt-in on uTube) is out of date or not installed at all? I would check those two things, mate!

I seen the video's and great bunch of info on the Mrod. I eventually want to make my Mrod coyote worthy up to about 75 yards. That ART/Sikes valve for both the Prod & Mrod sounds like it would be a good route to take on my next endeavor. I do have a question about your barrel Travis, is it still the Green Mountain barrel and is it still choked? The reason I ask is I'm wondering also what the max fps for the JSB 34gr MKII's before they start to spiral. Evidentally by the looks of the numbers in the videos I won't have any problems shooting the MKII's out of the Green mountain barrel. I've shot it out to 80 yards the way it is and it's one accurate sucker.

Just put the BSA Sweet 17 scope on mine... I'm ready to stretch it out a bit and see what I can get. My dang problem is that I got too many things going on at once. I need to take a flippin break from you enablers.
Note to self: Put down the bank card and slowly back away from the keyboard.
