I Spent the day rebuilding my 1389 Backpacker. I will do a write up on it later. I ended up with it pumping and new seals firing nice I will Crono it later. After the good result I dug out my model 70 and stripped it down. It had been leaking gas strait out the barrel. So with it in pieces cleaned re grease and reassembled. I loaded a gas cylinder and pulled down on the leaver and snapped the casting that holds the leaver part number 70-036. I'm never going to get a replacement in England. I will try to get a piece of Ally bar and make a replacement .

Have you gone to the many Crosman forums and posted or asked about parts?
Also, try an email to Tim McMurray at Mac-1 airguns in Los Angeles. Given the history of his shop (Crosmans since the 1940's) he may have some parts laying about or.. may have some better ideas than I have. Tim also has a gateway on this forum and you can reach him there.

No problem, and once sorted, put me down as #1 on the future sell-to list. I always liked those Mod 70 rifles!

I didn't even know I had baught it it was one of the pile of guns I won in a daft auction. I bids on one gun the auction said a crosman pump up air rifle . So I bid on it my maximum bid was $200.(we pay lot more for our air guns in uk than you guys do and you cannot buy them at walmart here) I didn't get a phone call saying that I had won so I forgot about it. Two weeks later I recived the invoice for the 11 rifles I now owned. Stupid auction put unsold lots with the next lot till some one buys them I had left a bid on the crosman so it was mine including the proceeding lots and the 70 was one of them the crosman pump up was a 140 so that was nice to.
