I'm the OP of this thread. I started a new thread aout this rifle. It has come around in a hurry. The big deal was how the gun is held. I have massive experience with powder burners but nearly none with AGs. It was just a learning curve plus the GRT trigger and JSB Diabolo Jumbo pellets.
Check out my other thread.

I had a benji xl1500 after alot of practice and changing the the trigger, scope and mounts I could hold a dime sized group at 50yds with barracuda match pellets with the large head diameter. Mine liked to be pulled into my shoulder with the right arm and loose grip on the forearm cheek not touching the rest. Also wouldnt group resting on anything solid.

Buy a set of leapers
https://www.pyramydair.com/product/utg-leapers-premium-1-rings-high-weaver-mount-see-thru?a=794
I used these on my xl1500 to hold a leapers 6-24x50 with no problem. It aslo might be your main seal is allowing air past after repetitive shooing and your velocity drops. I changed mine to maccari you dont need a compressor to do it on the xl its fairly easy. Just make sure to debur the cocking slot and trigger area before instaling a new seal. Also you can just get a new seal from crosman the original one is prolly nicked up from being installed at the factory Ive found this to be a problem on four NP rifles ive worked on.

Another thing I noticed with mine any change in hold and I mean any would change elevation but not windage.

There's no doubt that this particular rifle is very sensitive to hold. I found the most important thing was the rest the weight of the rifle just in front of the trigger guard whether that's on your hand (artillery hold), on a soft bag, or on a bipod. Just don't grip it.
The grip on the stock also needs to be light with very light cheek pressure.
When done consistently, mine is a tack driver.

Fear not! I think everyone is going through the same problems. I purchased this rifle along with a Gammo Varmint Hunter HP in the .177 caliber version nearly 3 weeks ago and have been struggling with both rifles using a variety of ammunition. Both bores were meticulously cleaned and over 200 pellets have gone through each gun so the break in period should be over right? Well yes I'm sure it is but just because of that it doesn't mean you are going to start grouping better.
Good quality pellets have made the groups a bit tighter but the real problem is in the scopes. Both rifles have a significantly stronger recoil than you would you would expect a .22LR rim fire to have and in addition to that, there is the vibration that has to be overcome. The fact is the scopes that come with these guns are not designed to handle the kind of recoil and vibration these rifles produce. You will chase the bulls eye forever unless you address this problem regardless of ammo, grip, trigger or break in time. I am trying different combination's of vibration dampers and I will share my results with you here shortly. If all else fails I will put all caliber quality scopes on both of the rifles since I intend on keeping them.
In the mean time good luck to you all.
Donnie

I just bought a Trail NPXL. I have very few shots through it and know it takes many to get things going right. But here is the problem I'm having. "Left creep". It seems to keep shooting to the left. I've adjusted windage but it seems I never catch up to it and it keeps going left. This is shooting on a rest. Shooting an old can of Diablos I held onto for a good gun. I've checked the scope mounts and barrel mount screws and all seem to be correct and tight/taut.
Any ideas?

You guys realize this post began a year ago?
Willie, not sure on your scope, but for instance, if 1 click is 1/4" at 50 yards.
So if you're shooting at 25 yards 1 click is 1/8", hard to tell if anything is happening.
Might want to turn it 10 or more clicks and see what happens.
If that doesn't start moving, you might want to open a new post/thread give us your make/model/specs of the scope you're using at what distance you're shooting and we'll try to help you.
By the way, welcome to the GTA!

Found the problem. While the rear scope mount felt snug, the mount threads were stripped. Took the gun back and got an NP. Wow, what a difference. Handles much better. Shoots better(well, with a secure mount
). Here's where I make a few enemies early on in my membership here. Found them at a discount clearance store for $139 and $129. Going back for another NP for my friend. Gonna leave the XL there, even though at that price on could easily get a new mount and be fine.

I had one in .177- the XL1500- that i could literally drill the bottom of a soda can every single time at 75 yards, sitting indian style with my lead elbow rested on my knee, and using a TIGHT sling and the exact same artillery hold every single time. EXTREMELY hold sensitive. Talking about groups under 2" and that was without a tune or even a GRTIII trigger. Very, very tricky getting that sling nice and tight around your arm the exact same way every time with a loose grip on the stock though. Cheek barely touching the stock in the same spot every time, stock barely touching the shoulder, and literally only a fingertip on the trigger and the web of my thumb touching inside the thumbhole. That was after a WHOLE DAY of shooting her CONSTANTLY, and almost burning through a whole 500 ct. tin of 10.5 grn Crosman premiers. Off-hand I was getting about a inch at 25-30 yards- sometimes better if I was really on my game- using about the same artillery hold, or as close as I could get it. Gun wasn't even fully broke-in yet. If I was even just a little off on the way I held her, my groups opened up to more like at least 3" at 25 yards. I was actually out crow hunting that day, and I missed two center-mass shots on big crows at only around thirty yards because i didn't have my hold JUST RIGHT! But if i took my time and did everything perfectly, it was extremely accurate. Eventually I took her back because after a couple tins i started having lockup issues. If I had just kept shooting her, she probably would have wore in better, and if I'd installed the brass washers, probably would have been a little less hold sensitive. Live and learn I guess. But that's just way too much power in a .177 breakbarrel, gas spring or not. I really don't like spring or gas piston guns, regardless of caliber, making more than 13 fpe or so. If you don't shoot her every single day to stay sharp, you'll lose your edge and your groups will open up a lot.
