Well, I got groups from about 2 inches at 10 meters, from this n case there's no significantly better replacement barrel coming from Crosman,
I took a small section of aluminum bar left over from an old project and filed a sight. I didn't make that clear- sorry This is one of the reasons I keep looking at the CCS 1300KT- comes from the factory with a dovetailed breech (for a scope or red-dot/reflect sight), plus you can get whichever barrel you want. The main thing about making a read sight is cutting the groove first- before doing any other shaping. I did everything with jeweler's files and a riffler , though rough-shaping was done with a mill-cut flat file for the actual shape. If you have a jeweler or hobby vise, that makes life a lot easier. I contemplate making a peep sight, but laziness has prevented me, along with leaving my 1377 at my sister's home in NC.My wife has tossed a few different colors of nail polish over the years, and the flashier/brighter ones have ended up in one of my toolbags- very handy for marking both sights and arrows. It's very durable- just about everything-proof, and the applicator brush, while not great for precision work, will do in most cases. For the front site, I used a toothpick and tiny dab of the nail polish.
