So in a matter of say 7 hours the gauge shows about a needles width of air loss:(
any suggestion on where to start?

keep watching it, that can happen from changes in temp. it happens with my disco when i fill it from the heat that pumps builds up
usually to check for leaks i fill it and let it sit over night

So I started thinking ( oh know ) that if the o ring could be mashed down perhaps I could get half a turn out of it, so I tried it out about a 1/4 turn before a felt the dreaded spin ahh ( but still don't know for sure. Then it dawned on me ( possibly a bit late ) that I should try the top part of the gauge ( duh ) and woa la it's in the correct plase now. Fingers are crossed that I didn't strip it, and that worst case may be a new o ring vs, new gauge or block

if you notice a significant loss in the morning then i would consider a tear down. i typically lose 200 psi after filling and cool down. cool down doesn't take all night though. maybe an hour or less.
not saying that is your issue but something to consider.

anytime i put my disco back together after a tear down i fill to roughly or slightly below 1500psi, take 5 to 10 test shots checking for transfer port leaks. if no leaks are found during a shot i refill to exactly 1500 extremely slowly to avoid the cool down loss of psi and then put the disco up until i wake up the next day and then if its less then 50psi low i refill to 2000psi and let it sit for the rest of the day

lol leave it over night. if you need to put a peice of blue 3 m tape over the top of the gauge to where you can still see the needle and use a pen or sharpie to mark where it is..
if you have the crosman gauge do your self a favor and pick up a gauge from the hipac website.. 0-3000psi in 200psi incriments black faced with white markings.. it sure does help to narrow down sweet spots and refill points
15 bucks shipped, google hipac 2240 and click on the powermax web link

Well it seemed to drop a bit more overnight. I'm thinking the new orings might not be the perfect size, back to the drawing board

when you push the valve or gauge block back down the tube you have to becareful going over the whole for the gauge. watch the orings they will bunch up and get cut up going over that hole. best thing to do is when it is bunching up like that use your finger nail and push the bunched up area down through the hole while your pushing the valve or gauge block past it

I had a leak on my disco as well and let me tell you! A few drops of dish soap in some water, then take a straw to apply to the possible "problem area" and if there is a leak that soap will lite up with foam!
