Disco air leak

My disco has leaked air since I got it, it takes about a week for it to leak from 2000 psi down to 1000. I did the balloon over the end of the barrel, and that's where it leaks from. I'm assuming I'm going to have to pull the valve out and replace some o rings?

if you leave it cocked, does it still leak from the barrel ?

sounds like time for a teardown. it is not as difficult as one might imagine. orings can be had at menards if you want them now. if not McMaster carr is the place to shop online.
on a side note, mine leaks down to 1k psi also over a couple weeks and I have just been lazy about repairing it

Not that its going to help, but the only way air gets to escape out the barrel is if the valve stem seal is not sealing.
Doesn't help because to get to the valve stem, pretty much have to take every other part out of the rifle, so are taking out and putting in a whole bunch of potential leak points in order to get at that one.

I remember tom Gaylord saying when he worked for air force guns when told of a leak he told the person to dry fire it a few times being dirt on the valve may cause a leak and that would clean it out. worth a try and easy to do . might get lucky
