Perplexing power loss.
Tuesday night I decided to chrono the .25 Hatsan M125. I have the factory metal spring and a Macarri seal installed. I noticed that my readings were between 40 to 60 fps slower than they were last time I checked. I don’t think it’s a chronograph issue, as I checked a different rifle and the numbers were where I expected them to be.
Here’s the odd thing. I did a 5 shot string of the Hatsan Vortex 19.9 (rebadged H&N FTS) and IIRC, the ES was 12 fps. I also tried Benji domes and they had a good (albeit slightly higher) ES.
I plan to re-test it this weekend and if the numbers are low, I will tear into it. Maybe the spring took a set, I don’t know.

The new seal is probably tighter than the original, slowing piston speed and thereby dropping fps. If you continue shooting the gun the speed will increase over time as it wears in.
Alternatively you can dismantle the gun and reduce the outer diameter of the seal.
Of course depending on how much time the gun spends cocked your spring could have taken a further set but knowing the seal was replaced that is my guess.
